Our client is a fast-growing non deposit taking micro-finance Company based in Nairobi with other Branches outside Nairobi and specialized in Group Lending with a number of Ten -Twenty-Five members per group.
They are seeking to hire a suitable and qualified individual to fill the position of the branch Operations Manager.
Duties and key responsibilities:
The Branch manager will oversee the corporate growth of the institution and future expansion to other areas.
Develop strategies of sourcing for funds and partners for the institution while at the same time maintaining a positive working relationship with present donors and stakeholders.
Promote and protect the name, reputation and fiscal responsibilities of the company.
Provide Direct supervision of the day to day operations of the branch and respective staff.
He/She will actively participate in improving the institution by developing and making recommendations, creating innovative training methods, cutting costs, working more efficiently and effectively.
He/She will be responsible for portfolio management, product development and continuously market the company products.
Ensure portfolio quality and growth for long term sustainability and profitability of the institution.
Ensure achievement of lending targets and other goals as outlined in the business plan and approved by the board of directors.
Developing and implementing strategies for promotion and expansion of client services.
Ensuring client Certification.
Monitor all activities to ensure they conform to established procedures and required
regulations.
Conduct periodic monitoring visits to the field training and supervising credit staff and duties related to the post and as may be assigned.
Desired Competencies and personal attributes
At least a University Degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, B.Com (Marketing) or a related field.
An advanced diploma with over 5 years’ experience in portfolio management will be considered.
At least 2 years management experience in a financial/micro – finance institution.
Good command of English and some indigenous languages.
Competence in basic computer packages and experiences in the usage of banking computerized software as well as basic accounting.
Reporting skills and good networking capacities and ability to motivate subordinates in trying circumstances.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
