Brief Posting Description

To ensure good care, health and training of dogs for effective prevention and detection of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective gathering, analysis and dissemination of intelligence on trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in order to detect employees involved and about to be involved in drug trafficking.
  • Ensure effective use/deployment of dogs.
  • Ensure effective prevention and detection of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
  • Ensure effective training of dogs.
  • Ensure proper grooming, care and prompt treatment of dogs.
  • Maintain dog kennels and dog vehicles in clean condition.
  • Ensure proper feeding of dogs.
  • Regularly weigh dogs.
  • Prompt alertness to any signs of sickness or change in demeanor of dogs.
  • Ensure secure handling/storage of training samples of drugs.
  • Liaise with law enforcement officers and other stakeholders on detection of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
  • Ensure Revenue Integrity

    Requirements

  • K.C.S.E. - C
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent skills in handling and use of sniffer dogs.
  • Passionate love for dogs.
  • Knowledge of Criminal Procedure Code, Evidence Act, Penal Code.
  • Knowledge of Animal Diseases Act, Cruelty to Animals Act and Rabies Act.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.

    3. Kenya Airways HR Relationship Manager Jobs

    To provide active leadership on all HR matters emanating from the relevant business areas as
    well as partnering with functional Directors and supporting Line Managers in the planning, development and implementation of the HR Business strategy and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    Recruitment and Selection


  • Review manpower requirements and ensure availability of suitable resources to support the business.
  • Conduct end to end recruitment from advertisement, selection of the interview panel, conducting back ground checks and on-boarding of the employees.
  • Liaise with the H.R Services Manager, Head of Learning and Development, Country Managers and respective administrative assistants to ensure smooth on-boarding of all new staff.
  • Conduct follows ups of the new employees to ensure they settle in the roles well.

    Strategy Formulation

  • In liaison with the Talent team plan and review recruitment strategy to ensure it is in line with the business needs and objectives.
  • Review organization structures, roles profiles/descriptions and ensure that they are in line with business needs

    Performance management

  • Drive the implementation of performance management policies, procedures and structures in order to grow a performance culture within Kenya Airways.
  • Review, analyze and provide feedback to the employees on their performance and ensure reviews are periodically carried out.
  • Identify the staff with unacceptable performance and in conjunction with the mangers prepare a performance improvement plan ensure reviews are done as per PIP agreement.

    Budgetary control

  • Monitor and control the individual cost centre budget
  • Staff Training and Development
  • Identify and recommend appropriate development interventions (training and other initiatives) for individual staff and departments, ensuring these interventions are aligned to business strategy and regulatory requirements.
  • Sit in the training review board (TRB) to review training progress for the pilots undergoing training and follow up on the recommendations.
  • Review role profiles to ensure they are in line with business needs and job the evaluation of the same

    Succession Planning

    In conjunction with the directors and the controlling mangers develop succession plans for key roles in the respective business areas and ensure implementation of the same

    Staff Engagement

  • Conduct exit interviews and record feedback for use in addressing employee concerns.
  • In conjunction with line managers and employee relations, address employee engagement/satisfaction to drive KQ as the Employer of Choice
  • Facilitate the transfer of staff to various workstations in line with the business needs.

    HR Relationship

  • Interpreting, advising and communicating to line mangers and staff on HR policies procedures, changes and update and ensuring adherence by the line.
  • In consultation with Head of Employee Relations, advice and provide guidance on grievance handling procedures to ensure that disciplinary issues in the respective business areas are resolved amicably, speedily and within the limits of the respective country labour laws to maintain industrial harmony
  • Ensure staff in the respective business areas are rewarded as per policy and any review/anomalies are handled as per Company procedure in liaison with the Manager Reward & Compensation

    Minimum Requirements

  • University graduate preferably in Human Resources or Social Sciences
  • Postgraduate Diploma in HRM
  • 8-10 year experience in a relevant role (of which 4 should have been in a supervisory/line manager role) with at least 4 years of relevant HR experience included therein
  • Good knowledge of Kenya Labor Laws
  • Good knowledge of International Laws
