Judicial Service Commission Member, Political Parties Dispute Tribunal Jobs in Kenya


Requirements

  • Be a citizen of the Republic of Kenya;
  • Be an Advocate of the High Court of seven (7) years standing or any other professional with outstanding governance, administrative, social, political, economic and other record for at least seven (7) years.
  • Meets the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya.
  • The Member shall not be a Member of the Public Service and not be an active participant in the activities of a Political Party.

    Duties and Responsibilities
  • Drive the Tribunal’s vision and mission through the implementation of its Programmes and Plans;
  • Mobilize and manage the resources of the Tribunal to achieve its core mandate;
  • Provide requisite leadership to ensure the Tribunal attains a high level of competitiveness and ethical standards in its entire programmes.
  • Preside over all the proceedings where he/she is present in person with unlimited geographical and pecuniary jurisdiction on matters of disputes;
  • Participate in hearing and determination of all disputes which come before the full bench;
  • Enter judgments in default of appearance;
  • Determine and pronounce upon any point of law arising in the course of proceedings before the Tribunal;
  • Approve, sign, issue and certify orders, decrees and certificates of costs, copies of proceedings and warrants of attachments for execution of Court decrees and orders; and
  • Write and pronounce awards, judgments, orders, rulings and decrees issued by the Tribunal.

    Important Information
    Interested and qualified persons are requested to make their applications by:-

    Applicants should upload soft copies of the following documents to the online application:-

    (a) A letter of application,

    (b) Detailed and updated curriculum vitae detailing professional and character referees.

    (c) Applicant’s recent coloured passport size photographs,

    (d) Three (3) samples of any professional writings, including but not limited to judgments, advocacy submissions in courts, scholarly writings or any publications that the applicant has authored,

    (e) Declaration of income and liabilities as at the time of making the application, using the prescribed forms “The Declaration of Income, Assets and Liabilities Form JSC 2b” which can be downloaded from the Judiciary website – www.judiciary.go.ke.

    Applicants must also submit copies clearance certificates from the following bodies:-
    • Kenya Revenue Authority,
    • Higher Education Loans Board,
    • Law Society of Kenya,
    • Directorate of Criminal Investigation,
    • Advocates Complaints Commission,
    • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and
    • a recognized Credit Reference Bureau.

    Certified copies of testimonials, professional certificates and academic transcripts.

    2. Applicants are also required to forward one (1) hard copy of the completed Employment Application Form including all the attachments cited above.
