Job brief

We are looking for a self-motivated and results-driven General Manager to direct and manage our organization's business activities and to develop and implement effective business strategies and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and warehouse activities

  • Design strategy and set goals for growth

  • Maintain budgets and optimize expenses

  • Set policies and processes

  • Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally

  • Oversee recruitment and training of new employees

  • Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance

  • Direct the employee assessment process

  • Evaluate employee performance and provide additional coaching and support as needed

  • Assess departmental and company performance and devise plans for improvement

  • Manage profit and loss statements and account for costs and revenues

  • Administer all import and export of goods and supervise delivery of all goods and manage distribution of all goods to various geographical locations efficiently.

  • Oversee handling of all goods and ensure safety in all transportation and design cost effective methods for same and analyze best means of transport for all products in coordination with other department manager.

  • Maintain subject matter expertise in all import and export operations and evaluate all company businesses and provide require classification for same.

  • Collaborate with senior management and ensure compliance to all trade regulations and changes and provide training to all company employees for all import processes.

  • Perform all internal and external audits and perform required prior disclosures for all processes and supervise efficient working of all external customers.

  • Monitor implementation of all department operations and
    ensure compliance to all regulations for department and adhere to all standards for import and export goods and establish all targets and streamline processes to incorporate all government regulations.

  • Design all compliance forms and prepare required reports and maintain an efficient import and export classification databases and ensure accuracy in same and ensure compliance to all regulations.

  • Assist all companies in import and export operations and implement trade agreement programs and maintain internal controls for same.

    Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years practical experience in a General Manager or similar executive role in import and export company

  • Degree in Marketing, (International) Business, Finance or any other related field

  • Good understanding of sales and marketing strategies

  • Well-developed communication skills and a customer orientation

  • Knowledge about budget management, international trade and taxation

  • Ability to easily comprehend and organize shipment processes

  • Knowledge about ECX purchasing process and ECX certified

  • Ability to manage warehouse activity
