ILRI Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning Support Specialist Jobs in Kenya


Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the design and implementation of the Livestock CGIAR Research Program (CRP’s) MELIA framework, including the incorporation of social learning tools and approaches.
  • Supporting research teams in developing and documenting their research strategies and annual plans of work and budget within a Theory of Change framework that defines the necessary activities and approaches to produce outputs that will translate into research and development outcomes and the eventual targeted impact. This will involve:
  • Facilitating team planning and review sessions with ILRI and partner staff;
  • Ensuring quality and consistency in documenting results;
  • Managing activity-specific budgets.
  • Supporting CRP country teams in developing and implementing a context-specific system for monitoring changes resulting from CRP research and engagement in the country, including:
  • Defining appropriate indicators and methods for data collection;
  • Monitoring the quality of M&E data collected.
  • Collecting, managing and analyzing research information, including:
  • Leading the establishment and maintenance of a database of program performance indicator data;
  • Maintaining the Livestock CRP Flagship data included in the CGIAR shared online platform (MARLO).
  • Writing reports and preparing presentations for CRP Management on M&E topics.
  • Planning and implementing capacity development activities
    with ILRI and partner staff.
  • Reviewing TORs for evaluations and impact assessments and providing inputs on draft consultancy reports.

    Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant scientific/agricultural discipline
  • At least five (5) years substantive experience in conceptualizing monitoring and evaluation system incorporating learning and feedback mechanism for agricultural development.
  • Good understanding of monitoring and evaluation methods including Theory of Change
  • Experience in data entry and analysis
  • Fluent in English, with French or Spanish an advantage
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Computer literacy in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Attention to detail
