I Choose Life Assistant Project Manager Vacancies in Kenya

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Design
  • Participate in the development and design of new project proposals to enhance ICT integration and 21st century skills
  • Participate in reviewing the attainment of goals and objectives as set out in the funded proposal.

    Project implementation and Training

  • Assist the coordination all project activities including preparation of work plans
  • Training and sensitization of community on importance of girl education, economic empowerment programs, ICT for learning and entrepreneurship
  • Plan and facilitate peer education and life skills training.
  • Plan and organize career fairs, mentorship and motivational sessions for students
  • Forge partnerships within the project sites for the attainment of project goals.
  • Ensure evaluations of trainings and outreach activities are conducted and reports written and submitted to the project manager.
  • Participate in project, organizational and institutional meetings and work harmoniously with other stakeholders.
  • Support in project research in collaboration with the project M&E team.

    Resource Mobilization

  • Take part in resource mobilization through participation in proposal development with other program staff
  • Design, implement and evaluate projects with an aspect of resource mobilization
  • Participate in product design for Resource Mobilization with a bias towards ICT for Learning.

    Project Monitoring& Evaluation

  • Compile reports and submit them to the Project Officer M & E accordingly.
  • Compile accurate narrative and data reports; including the set deadlines.
  • Track student attendance in schools
  • Ensure evaluations of trainings and outreach activities are conducted and reports written and submitted to the project manager/monitoring and evaluation officer.
  • In accordance with donor requirements, create or maintain procedures for capturing and publishing monthly, quarterly and annual project technical and financial reports.

    Desired Education and Training

  • A Master of Education (arts/Science) or Project Management
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education or its equivalent.
  • A post graduate Diploma in project management will be an added advantage
  • MUST hold a Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) Certificate or a be a master trainer in MOS.

    Knowledge and Skills

  • Vast working knowledge on ICT integration in education and 21st century skills
  • Experience working with teachers in ICT integration in education
  • Be an excellent facilitator and have the ability to forge partnerships within the project area
  • Experience in implementing Donor funded projects is highly desirable
  • Knowledge on programming is mandatory
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, a keen eye for details, good presentation and interpersonal skills and excellent report writing skills.
  • People management skills
  • Experience building the capacity of young people through mentorship.

    Experience and Abilities

  • A minimum of Six (6) years of teaching experience in an academic environment
  • Experience working with primary and secondary schools a is an added advantage
  • Ability to work with a team, foster a team approach and incorporate capacity building activities into the program
  • Ability to analyze and utilize program development gaps for designing Programs.
  • Demonstrate capacity for collaboration, networking and resource mobilization.

    I Choose Life Monitoring, Evaluation & Research Manager Vacancies in Kenya

    Location: Nairobi

    Key Responsibilities

    Research & Design

  • Conduct or commission research in organizational project areas and present these to management and external stakeholders
  • Utilize the research conducted in design of new projects and influence policy
  • Lead the organization in the publishing of organizational research findings
    Planning
  • Lead in development and implementation of Organizational M&E strategy and project’s M&E plans
  • Oversee or commission development of monitoring and evaluation tools (including project PMPs, indicator reference sheets, and all
    other research tools) and orienting project staff on their proper use
  • Participate in project planning process including Project, Resource, Financial, Quality, Risk and Reporting plans
  • Oversee implementation of the organizational M and E plan including but not limited to carrying out periodic monitoring of progress against project PMP targets
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building to county M and E teams to enable the transformation of programmatic data into strategic information for monitoring progress against county strategic plans, evidence based decision making and quality improvement.

    Data Management
  • Lead the development of the design of data collection tools, protocols and procedures
  • Oversee project evaluations including data collection, analysis and reporting according to project M and E Plan.
  • Oversee M&E database setup and knowledge management
  • Oversee generation of reports in compliance with donor procedures and contractual agreements
  • Oversee routine data quality assurance across organizational projects
  • Aggregate, analyse and present program data to project staff, partners, counterparts and donors
  • Facilitate interpretation of M and E findings for project planning, decision making, course correction and communication of successes.

    Desired Education and Training

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Math’s and Statistics as an added advantage
  • Must have a Master’s Degree in Social Sciences/Public Health or its equivalent
  • Training in Research with track proven capacity to conduct research, prepare policy documents and evidence of publications
  • Demonstrated capacity to design and mobilize resources for programs using data from research.

    Knowledge and Skills

  • Be an excellent facilitator and can create partnerships
  • Experience in implementing USG and DfID funded projects is highly desirable
  • Knowledge on programming highly desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, a keen eye for details, good presentation and interpersonal skills and excellent report writing skills.
  • People management skills as well as mentorship experience and capability.
  • Excellent command of computers and statistical software, especially experience with MS Access and SPSS or STATA. Ability to manipulate large data sets.

    Experience and Abilities

  • Ability to work with a team, foster a team approach and incorporate capacity building activities into the program
  • Ability to analyze and utilize program development gaps for designing Programs
  • At least 7 years’ relevant experience with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or management position.
  • Experience in working in PEPFAR funded projects. Also, experience in working with EU, DfID, UN funded projects is desirable
  • Competence in qualitative and quantitative study design and implementation as demonstrated in the samples of previous work
  • Extensive experience with monitoring program implementation using qualitative and quantitative approaches
  • Experience using data analysis packages
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate at all levels in English
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrates an ability to develop institutional partnerships and build networks
  • Strong IT and analytical skill.
  • Flexible attitude to work and to work without supervision.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
