GOtv Broadcast Technology Operations Manager Jobs in Kenya

We are a blue chip Company, a leader in the broadcast media sector. We seek to appoint a suitably qualified & dedicated individual to assume the responsibility of GOtv Broadcast Technology Operations Manager on an understudy program. This position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and the successful candidate will report to the General Manager-GOtv.

The purpose of this appointment is to ensure a smooth handover from the current EXPAT Regional Manager to a successful in-country incumbent. The successful applicant will be appointed after a 12-month probation period as Regional Manager. The current EXPAT will remain in a supporting Managerial and Technical Specialist for a minimum of a further 12 months after this appointment

Responsibilities for the Operations Manager Job

Ensure world-class service levels for all Terrestrial Operation broadcast platforms

Optimized resource utilization (sites, equipment, staff, operational costs )

Ensure effective implementation of new services and software/hardware on various Broadcast platforms

Ensure sophisticated monitoring and quality control procedures

Established and maintained operational recovery processes within Terrestrial Operations

Effective communication up & down

Overall responsibility and ownership and rapid resolution of Terrestrial Operations service issues.

Establish, implement and maintain operational processes to achieve optimum service levels

Support GOtv based Satellite Operations infrastructure

Managed product monitoring (uptime, down time)

Change control and problem solving processes

Database management (event and fault logging)

Streamlined processes and operational efficiency and cost effective delivery

Standard Operating Procedures

Established and maintained recovery processes

Management Reports

Ensure Corporate

Governance process are followed

Management of BBBEE profiling relevant to Terrestrial Operations

Operations Manager Job Qualifications

A degree in engineering or related field.

5 years’ experience working in the same position preferably at a senior level.

Experience working in the pay TV industry

High level of GOtv-relevant technology operations knowledge
