We seek qualified candidates for the position of Grants Officer based in the Nairobi, Kenya office supporting the SCS Global activity Safeguarding Democratic Space in Kenya (SADES-K).


FHI 360 seeks a Grants Officer for a new activity, Safeguarding Democratic Space in Kenya (SADES-K), which will be implemented from 2018 to 2021.

The overall goal of SADES-K is to enhance Kenya’s ability to hold a national conversation on reforms and national cohesion, and to safeguard democratic gains, including protecting civic space, respect for human rights and observance of rule of law.


Responsibilities:

The Grants Officer will report to the Grants Manager and:

  • Support the management of sub-grants that will be awarded under the activity
  • Work directly with the grant recipients to ensure that such awards conform to procurement and competition requirements
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting on the
    implementation of the grants


    Qualifications:


  • BS/BA with 3-5 years’ or MS/MA/MBA with 1-3 years’ relevant granting and contracting experience managing multi-year awards ranging from small sub-awards to multi-million dollar thresholds.
  • Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS-UK) diploma or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of grants management experience and other agreements.
  • Past experience working with community-based organizations and NGOs is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of donor (USG and non-USG) rules and regulations including but not limited to USAID, DHHS, DOE, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong ability to manage and meet multiple tasks.
  • Read, write and speak English.
