3. FHI 360 Office Assistant Jobs in Kenya


We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Office Assistant I for the USAID-funded project, Linkages across the Continuum of HIV Services for Key Populations Affected by HIV (LINKAGES), under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) program in Kenya.

LINKAGES is implemented by FHI 360 in partnership with Pact, IntraHealth International and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and conducts a range of activities to reduce HIV transmission among key populations (KP) – and improve their enrollment and retention in care and treatment across the HIV cascade.

LINKAGES will accelerate the ability of governments, key population leaders, organizations working with key populations, and private-sector providers to plan and implement services that reduce HIV transmission among key populations and their sexual partners and extend the lives of those already living with HIV. The key elements of the FHI 360-led team’s strategic and technical approach are:
  • Identifying key populations and locales and comprehensively assessing risk,
  • Diagnosing “leaks” and revealing access barriers within the HIV services cascade,
  • Scaling up “what works” while innovating to ensure the most strategic use of resources and access to newly emerging technologies,
  • Addressing structural barriers and transforming local KP organizations,
  • Ensuring interventions are sustainable over the long term, and
  • Supporting the mainstreaming of human rights, gender and competency and capacity development.

    Responsibilities
  • Prepare coffee, tea or other refreshments to staff and meetings and ensuring the meeting room is cleared thereafter.
  • Ensure that all general public areas are neat and clean.
  • Handles pick-up and delivery of items for the office as required.
  • Assist in sending faxes and maintaining the fax machine, notifying the Administrative Assistant when service and supplies are required.
  • Assist in operating switchboard, directing incoming and outgoing calls as required by caller, determines the nature of the call and decides on appropriate routing.
  • Assist in receiving and screening all incoming visitors in accordance with FHI 360’s security procedures to identify them and determine the nature of their visit.
  • Keeps a log of all visitors showing their name, time of arrival, who they visited and time of departure.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the Administrative Assistant.

    Job Qualifications
  • Clear speaking voice, neat and pleasant appearance.
  • Good understanding of basic grammar.
  • Ability to deal congenially and effectively with people, both in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to be consistently organized, diplomatic and conscientious.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Able to report to work and maintain time schedule and work extra hours as needed.
  • Willing to learn, use and maintain office machines and assume responsibilities as skill increase.
  • Willingness and interest in supporting LINKAGES programs and goals.
  • Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
  • Secondary school ‘O’ level graduate or equivalent years of relevant experience; plus a minimum of three years working with a public or private organization as a receptionist.
  • Experience with switchboard equipment will be an added advantage.
  • Must have a valid certificate of good conduct valid within the year.
  • Prefer experience with medium-to-large sized international organization

    4. FHI 360 Director of Community Services and HIV Prevention Jobs in Kenya

    The Director for Community Services and HIV Prevention will provide strategic leadership to the community services portfolio to implement high quality community HIV prevention, care and treatment strategies.

    S/he will provide leadership in the provision of technical assistance to various levels of program implementation while monitoring the program to ensure quality delivery of the community services portfolio. Recruitment is contingent upon successful award.

    Job Summary / Responsibilities:
  • Provides strategic leadership to the community services and HIV prevention portfolio
  • Provides technical leadership to the community services team to implement quality evidence based interventions
  • Leads the provision of technical assistance to DHMTs in developing community HIV prevention, care and treatment, health communication strategies, messages and materials
  • Prepares annual work plans, budgets, quarterly reports for activities related community services
  • Collaborates closely with other technical teams to ensure that program implementation adheres to appropriate global strategy and remains technically sound
  • Liaises with stakeholders in community services including relevant government departments
  • Analyses data and technical assessment findings for decision making
  • Represent the project at professional meetings and conferences.

    Qualifications:
  • Excellent managerial and administrative skills
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding health, HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, Malaria and TB
  • Ability to work with others and maintain compatibility among project staff, sub-contractors, consultants, recipients of assistance
  • Ability to manage projects, set priorities and plan for the successful implementation of programs
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, team player with drive and initiative
  • Ability to travel regionally, nationally and internationally

    Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s in Public Health, MA or MS in Social Sciences or related advanced degree with 7-9 years’ relevant experience
  • Experience in managing budgets, project planning, monitoring and evaluation
  • Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with multi-cultural communities is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Kiswahili
  • Excellent computer software skills.

    5. FHI 360 Associate Director of Program Management Jobs in Kenya

    Assisting the Chief of Party in coordinating and managing the implementation of the Programs and to ensure the individual strategic and local implementing partner activities cohere in a well-coordinated and unified strategy.

    Recruitment is contingent upon successful award of the project.

    Job Summary / Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership in the development of a Public health program work plans and budgets, including periodic review and revision.
  • Assist in the design of subproject activities (including the preparation of budgets, implementation schedules, and evaluation criteria) and assists in the identification of appropriate consultants and staff to provide technical and management assistance for projects in Kenya.
  • In-charge of pipeline analysis of projects and financial tracking.
  • Interpreting the strategic and work plan to implementing partners and ensuring that activities cohere to this plan.
  • Represent projects at national and international forums.
  • Monitor compliance of projects with country implementation plans.
  • Identify technical assistance needs of the projects and liaise with the Chief of Party to ensure the technical assistance is provided in a timely manner.
  • Review monthly and quarterly and half yearly activity reports from the projects.
  • Provide support supervision to the senior technical team.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in social sciences or public health with 7-9 years of experience or a related advanced degree relevant to the field of HIV/AIDS and on other health field: FP/RH, Maternal and Child Health, TB or other Infectious Diseases with 9-11 years relevant experience.
  • Must have experience in managing budgets, project planning, monitoring and evaluation and excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English language and working knowledge of Kiswahili is crucial.
  • S/he must have at least 8 years’ experience in project management.
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite.
