FHI 360 Technical Officer, Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision Career Opportunities


Job Summary / Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, implementation and monitoring of VMMC services
  • Provide quality assurance and control for the VMMC program in line with national guidelines
  • Provide technical support for quality assurance and quality improvement activities
  • Coordinate training of staff using an approved curriculum
  • Liaise with Ministry of Health officials and other stakeholders in coordinating implementation of VMMC
  • Prepare annual work plans for implementing activities, budgets and reports for VMMC services
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with MOH staff at all levels and other partners to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the program at all levels.
  • Maintain smooth regular information flow with MOH officials, FHI 360 technical staff on technical issues.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Associate Director, Care and Treatment

    Qualifications:

  • Excellent managerial and administrative skills.
  • Sensitivity of cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding HIV and VMMC services
  • Ability to work with others and maintain compatibility among project staff, sub-contractors, consultants and recipients of assistance.
  • Ability to manage projects, set priorities and plan for the successful implementation of programs.
  • Ability to travel regionally, nationally and internationally as needed.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, team player with drive as an initiative.

    Minimum Requirements Standards:

  • Program management experience with implementation of VMMC program
  • Degree in Medicine, preferably with supervision skills
  • Working experience of at least 7-9 years and at least three years in HIV prevention, care and treatment
  • Familiarity with decentralized public health systems.
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite.

    FHI 360 Senior Technical Officer, HIV Prevention Career Opportunities

    Job Summary / Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for implementation of HIV prevention, adolescents and youth, discordant couples and PLHIV
  • HIV testing and counselling Collaborate with other teams (e.g. community services teams) to support social and behaviour change communications
  • Work closely with the Gender Specialist to develop approaches to address gender based violence and HIV prevention
  • Support continuous quality improvement and quality assurance in HIV prevention programs
  • Provide technical support and capacity building to implementing partners in the implementation of HIV prevention services at community level
  • Use data in program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Compile reports as necessary
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of current science around HIV combination prevention
  • Ability to provide a wide range of clinical services and capable of effectively transference of skills, effective communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer software skills for word processing.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative to manage high volume workload.

    Minimum Requirement Standards:

  • Master’s level degree in public health and 7 years demonstrated expertise in HIV prevention programs and services
  • Substantial experience designing, working with, and advising large scale field programs and translating evidence into policies, programs, and services for improved HIV prevention.
  • Experience with combination biomedical and behavioural prevention.

    FHI 360 Senior Data Manager Career Opportunities

    Job Summary / Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support in management of all project data base including KePMS to meet data requirements for the project and other stake holders.
  • Perform needs assessment and work with information systems personnel at project and implementing partner level to determine feasibility of development of new databases and enhancements or modifications to existing databases.
  • Provide technical guidance in designing, development and use of data capture tools to meet project requirements.
  • Develop and design a functional system for collecting, organizing, analyzing, interpreting, and classifying information for input into electronic databases.
  • Implement USG Results Management guidelines at both project and implementing partner level in all data management activities.
  • Coordination of data entry of USAID’s program activities data from all program site offices.
  • Conduct data analysis for the quarterly, semi and annual reports to the USAID and ad hoc program data and reports.
  • Conduct routine data quality assessments on program data bases and provide ongoing support to implementing partners to do the same.
  • Assist in project evaluations and research activities.
  • Build the capacity of project and partner staff on data management and Monitoring & Evaluation.
  • Directly supervise Data Management Assistants including temporary data clerks.
  • Keep abreast of latest trends in data management.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Project Director.

    Qualifications:

  • Experience in setting up and managing data bases.
  • Experience in capacity building of partners in data management.
  • Experience in data analysis and presenting statistical reports.
  • Keen to maintain data security and data quality systems.
  • Working knowledge of USAID/PEPFAR/GOK data requirements.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Tact and diplomacy in dealing with implementing partners.

    Minimum Requirement Standards:

  • Masters’ degree with 1-3 years’ experience or Bachelors’ degree in biostatistics, public health, mathematics or related field with 3-5 years’ experience or Advanced Diploma in statistics/data management or related areas with 5-7 years’ experience.
  • Computer proficiency in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, including advanced skills in at least two of the following programs: SPSS,
  • Excel, Epi Info, Stata, and MS Access.
  • Demonstrated experience with Health Management Information Systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge through informal and formal trainings.
