Clinton Health Access Initiative NGO Technical Advisor, Maternal and Newborn Health Surveillance (Applied Analytics) Vacancies in UgandaThe Technical Advisor will also work in close collaboration with the government and will interact on a regular basis with donors, NGOs, companies, academic and research institutions and civil society.
Responsibilities
In collaboration with the CHAI country teams in Uganda and Zambia, strategize with the partner governments on the most appropriate approach to establishing or strengthening a community-based maternal and neonatal health surveillance system
Provide ongoing technical support to the country team on the implementation of the community maternal and neonatal health surveillance system in CHAI’s SRMNH intervention areas
Participate in the training of community health workers and government officials at various levels to strengthen data capture and use for the surveillance systems
Support the conduct of systematic data quality audits and develop strategies to respond to data quality issues
Perform data analysis to document changes in health outcomes over time and across geographies
Design and conduct an analysis comparing changes in health outcomes in program areas to non-program areas
Support reporting to donors and partner governments through data analysis and identify gaps and challenges in meeting targets
Support regular program performance reviews using data from the surveillance system
Develop tools and strategies to transition the management of the surveillance system to the government
Investigate options for and support the establishment of technology-based solutions to facilitate electronic reporting
Facilitate sharing of lessons and best practices across countries and ensure alignment where appropriate
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Master’s degree in public health, economics, or a related field and minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience
Experience with surveillance and program monitoring systems
Experience with community-based interventions and programs
Statistical analysis skills with demonstrated hands-on experience with SAS, Stata, or equivalent
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated capacity to synthesize data into an effective presentation of results for a variety of audiences
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of partners and stakeholders
Strong management skills and proven ability to generate results

Clinton Health Access Initiative NGO District Coordinator - Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health Vacancies in Uganda
This position will oversee the implementation of program activities in the selected 1-2 program districts. The Coordinator will provide routine technical assistance to the district to implement the program interventions.
Responsibilities
Working with the Senior Coordinators, oversee district implementation of CHAI Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health Program interventions in target health facilities and communities
Support development, timely submission and tracking of annual, quarterly and monthly work plans and budgets for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health interventions in the selected districts of operation
Support and ensure the rollout of the CHAI integrated Sexual, Reproductive and Neonatal Health (SRNH) model to target health facilities and communities
Review and improve technical strategies employed by district technical teams including clinical and community mentors supporting the technical areas of the program to ensure the CHAI project work plan is adhered to and implemented with measurable success
Represent the program in various fora at
district, facility and community level to articulate program priorities and recommended actions
Coordinate with Ministry of Health and other stakeholders implementing integrated Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health services in the region to synergize interventions
Support and maintain the pool of district and regional mentors who will support the health facility teams to improve quality of care and services provided in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health technical areas
Collaborate with District Health Officers, hospital directors and health facility in-charges, Health Unit Management Committees, health assistants, Village Health Teams and lower local governments to promote program interventions
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in social sciences, business, statistics or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of work experience
Experience working with local communities and districts in implementation of health interventions
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Basic analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and communication (written and verbal) skills
Knowledge of a local language is ideal

Clinton Health Access Initiative NGO Senior Associate, Monitoring and Evaluation - Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health Vacancies in Uganda
The Senior Associate Monitoring and Evaluation will lead a team of approximately 2 direct reports to manage CHAI’s Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health performance monitoring framework.
Responsibilities
Develop the overall framework for program Monitoring and Evaluation in accordance to the program Monitoring and Evaluation plan
Identify the requirements for collecting evaluation data, prepare terms-of-reference and scope of work for and conduct evaluative surveys at baseline, midterm and end-line, as required
Contribute to the development of the annual work plan, ensuring alignment with program strategy, agreement on annual targets and inclusion of Monitoring and Evaluation activities in the work plan
Support program team to analyze and synthesize assessment Monitoring and Evaluation, and research results, including contributing to drafting internal and external reports, briefs, and presentations
Monitor program work plans and track program indicators
Prepare detailed Monitoring and Evaluation budgets
Manage Monitoring and Evaluation information resources
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, statistics or equivalent
At least 3 years’ work experience in program monitoring and evaluation including indicator development, study design, and data analysis
Demonstrated ability in data analysis, developing results frameworks or similar tools for program design is required
Experience developing and/or using performance management plans or similar tools
Advanced proficiency in computer packages such as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, STATA and Word
Excellent analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and communication (written and verbal) skills
Practical program/program management experience
