1. HR Officer


Nature of Job:
Full time

Location: Nairobi with occasional travelling

Salary: Kshs. 30,000 – 40,000

Our client, a leading construction company, is looking for a qualified Human Resources Professional who will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing and evaluating human resources policies, programs and practices.

Roles and Responsibilities

Daily duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Answering employee questions and processing incoming mail
  • Providing customer service to organization employees
  • Serving as a point of contact with benefit vendors/administrators
  • Updating and maintaining employee records/data both soft and hardcopy files
  • Setting appointments and arranging meetings
  • Compiling reports and spreadsheets and preparing spreadsheets

    Recruitment
  • Handling recruitments – from advertising to onboarding
  • Ensuring background and reference checks are completed
  • Preparing new employee files
  • Overseeing the completion of compensation and benefit documentation
  • Orienting new employees to the organization (setting up a designated log-in, workstation, email address, etc.)
  • Conducting benefit enrollment process
  • Administering new employment assessments
  • Serving as a point person for all new employee questions

    Payroll and Benefits Administration
  • Processing payroll and answering payroll questions
  • Facilitating resolutions to any payroll errors
  • Participating in benefits tasks, such as claim resolutions, reconciling benefits statements, and approving invoices for payment

    Record Maintenance
  • Maintaining current HR files and databases
  • Updating and maintaining employee benefits, employment status, and similar records
  • Maintaining records related to grievances, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
  • Performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
  • Performing payroll/benefit-related reconciliations

    Minimum qualifications for HR Officer Job
  • Higher Diploma in Human Resources Management, Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Member of IHRM.
  • 2 years’ experience in the same capacity in a busy environment.
  • Well conversant with the labour laws.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Familiar with Human Resources Information Systems

    2. Furniture Store Designer Job in Nairobi

    Nature of Job: Full time

    Location: Nairobi

    Our client, a leading furniture store is looking for a designer who will create designs for items of furniture and related products to be sold by the company.

    Roles and Responsibilities
  • Study, research and plan various styles of furniture design
  • Regularly recommend ways to already manufactured items
  • Keep abreast with design trends and developments
  • Select the most suitable materials for the furniture
  • Discuss and agree on designs with customers and manufacturers
  • Generate sample designs using computer-aided design (CAD), card models, sketches or hard prototypes
  • Prepare detailed final designs
  • Liaise with the production team regarding the process of construction or manufacture
  • Evaluate issues such as pricing and fixing costs, fashion, purchasing, safety, materials and production techniques
  • Complete projects from raw materials to finished furniture items
  • Maintain updated work plans and ensure all planned activities are carried out within stipulated timelines and available resources

    Minimum qualifications and Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma from a recognized institution
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power-point and Email
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in Design
  • Should be conversant with software packages such as ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Inventor and SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of a design program such as Corel or Illustrator is an added advantage
  • Conversant with measurements
  • Strong supervision skills for project management
  • Sufficient selling skills
  • Proficient in both English and Kiswahili with good presentation skills
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to collect market intelligence and report on the findings

    Nature of Job: Full time

    3 positions: Two (2) Field Sales and Marketing Executive and Showroom Sales and one (1) Marketing Executive

    Location: Nairobi

    Our client, a leading furniture store is looking for three (3) qualified Sales and Marketing Executives who will be responsible for promotion and selling of the company’s products.

    Roles and Responsibilities
  • Identify business opportunities, research and analyze sales options.
  • Develop adequate knowledge of all products, relevant selling points and benefits to the customer.
  • Sell products by establishing contact, keep customers well informed about orders and developing relationships with prospective customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of all product information, current advertising and marketing initiatives.
  • Remain current on industry trends, market activities and competition.
  • Maintain positive business and customer relationships for repeat sales
  • Provide the company with relevant feedback from customers concerning policies and/or product requests, problems and suggestions.
  • Maintain updated work plans of scheduled activities, visits and meetings and ensure all planned activities are carried out within stipulated timelines.
  • Liaise with other members of the Sales Team to actively promote sales and share information
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism at all times and adhere to procedures laid down by the company.
  • Provide timely reports as and when required by the company.
  • Ensuring achievement of sales targets pre-assigned every month.

    Minimum qualifications and Competencies
  • Degree or Diploma in Sales and Marketing
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power-point and Email
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in Sales with exposure to tenders and pre-qualifications
  • Strong mathematical skills with ability to work on measurements
  • Working knowledge of layouts, design and an understanding of office fit-outs
  • Proficient in both English and Kiswahili with good presentation skills
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to negotiate and close deals
  • Ability to collect market intelligence and report on the findings
