Bishop Stuart University (Chartered by the Government of the Republic of Uganda- Chartered 2014) is a growing Ankole Diocese Church of Uganda (Anglican) founded institution located in Mbarara on Kakoba Hill 5km from the town Centre.

Bishop Stuart University Assistant Librarian Jobs in Mbarara Uganda


Responsibilities;

Assist the Head Librarian in the management, planning, and supervision of the Library

Develop and maintain systems for organizing the Library holdings to facilitate the needs of readers

Develop and maintain systems to list and record Library holdings, reader registration and the loan and consultation transactions in the Library

Responsible for the preservation of information materials in the library ( binding reproduction of worn-out copies etc)

Providing user advisory services

Maintenance of the electronic databases and helping with information sourcing

Maintenance of the electronic databases and helping with information sourcing

To be responsible for the implementation of the rules and ordinances of the library

In charge of information processing (cataloging and catalog maintenance, classification, etc)

In charge of Library internet systems and supervision

Development of a security mechanism for protecting library property

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science.

Working experience of at least 5 years in a Library setting in a reputable organization
