APA Insurance Audit Assistant Jobs in Kenya


Responsibilities

  • Reviewing various business processes and documents to check for controls and compliance with the company policies which includes Physical Asset verification and conducting systems audits. This involves:
  • Conducting interviews during audits;
  • Preparing working papers for the various audits;
  • Developing and administering surveys;
  • Summarizing audit issues;
  • Detecting fraud and conducting follow up investigations;
  • Identifying all risks including people, technology and process risks, and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of controls;
  • Conducting data extraction, analysis, and security reviews utilizing software tools to guide the audit process;
  • Identifying and documenting audit issues and recommendations concerning areas being reviewed;
  • Attending and observing auctions of salvage vehicles to ensure compliance to procedures.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ degree in Commerce/Accounting /Finance or an equivalent
  • CPA / ACCA equivalent
  • 2 years’ Experience in Audit

    APA Insurance Legal Officer Jobs in Kenya

    Responsibilities

  • Receive demand letters, summons and statutory notices on behalf of the company advice and action on the best way forward in liaison with Claims department.
  • Appoint external advocates to defend frivolous claims in court immediately the company is served with summons.
  • Assess genuine claims that can be settled out of court upon receipt of demand letters, and initiate negotiations with third party advocates to save the company on costs.
  • Provide a legal opinion on all matters filed in court or being negotiated out of court.
  • Liaise with brokers or directly with insured persons to ensure that external advocates have all the required supporting documents to defend the company.
  • Upon analysis of a claim, Issue appropriate instructions to external Advocates to ensure expedient settlement of claims.
  • Assessment of Advocates fee notes to ensure that they are in line with the provisions of the Advocates Remuneration Order.
  • To check and confirm if a claim is statutorily time barred under tort or contract before accepting service of summons.
  • Review of all outstanding claims on a semi-annual basis.
  • Ensure recoveries are pursued aggressively against negligent third parties and liaise with lawyers in the panel on matters that are in court.
  • Manage external lawyers on a day to day basis and ensure that the cases in court are handled in the best interests of the company.
  • Review all contracts and any other documentation where the company has committed itself and assess legal implications that need to be brought to the management’s attention.
  • Prepare, review, negotiate and modify contractual instruments to assist and support various business activities.

    Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
  • Post graduate diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
  • Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
  • At least 4 years relevant experience in the Insurance industry.
  • Good questioning, negotiating and influencing s& communication skills
  • Have own initiative and use the corporate claims philosophy effectively

    Responsibilities

  • Developing and constantly updating underwriting service standards and manuals in line with the customer service charter;
  • Managing the business portfolio
    through prudent underwriting in order to achieve the targeted business mix and loss ratio;
  • Liaising with other business units to ensure business procured is compliant with company underwriting guidelines i.e. pricing, risk, legal etc.;
  • Achieving departmental service standards in processing, approval and release of crucial documents within set Turn Around times. These include quotations, debit/credit notes and policy documents;
  • Building and strengthening business relationships with existing and prospective clients to achieve performance targets;
  • Supporting the collection of outstanding premium within the credit control policy;
  • Exploring opportunities presented by the market and coming up with creative ideas to help in the development of innovative products and solutions that meet customer needs;
  • Complying with statutory, regulatory and internal control processes at the business units including internal and external audit recommendations;
  • Developing micro insurance unit budget and business plans to achieve the set company targets;
  • Entrenching performance based appraisal of departmental staff in line with their set KPIs and departmental targets;
  • In liaison with HOD, conduct market research and explore opportunities presented by the market to develop innovative micro insurance products and solutions that meet customer needs;

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing/Micro insurance/Entrepreneurship/Public relations or an equivalent.
  • Diploma in Micro insurance/Micro Finance/ACII
  • Member of a relevant professional body
  • At least 10 years relevant experience with at least 4 years managerial experience

    Responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors on an ongoing basis for speedy and flawless resolution of system issues relating to the new General Insurance System.
  • Ensure outstanding project and support issues are delivered on-time and within scope
  • Conducting requirements gathering/proactively identifying needs/opportunities; carrying out analysis and translating user requirements to technical documents to be used in system acquisition and enhancement;
  • Ensure sufficient user acceptance testing for issues raised in the new GIS using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Performing thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for the errors and changes in both GIS and FMS application systems and recommending/implementing the best solutions – adhoc and on-going basis;
  • Analyzing report requirements, designing and developing the required reports from GIS and FMS application systems;
  • Planning and conducting training on system functionalities, as well as new developments in reports, system releases, fixes & patches for both GIS and FMS application systems;
  • Planning and performing regular health checks and Security Audits on the GIS and FMS application systems and databases within the Group;
  • Responsible for Disaster Recovery including system-wide backups and periodic restorations and testing for GIS and FMS systems;
  • Documenting procedures, processes and user manuals for GIS and FMS, for reference within the department and the organization;
  • Managing the testing and implementation of systems upgrade, releases an patches as well as new technology solutions for APA Insurance
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Management

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other related field.
  • MCSD / OCA
  • Project Management
  • At least 4 years relevant experience
