APA Insurance Claims Officer – Vetter Job Vacancies in Kenya


Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for vetting medical claims, ensuring quality and accuracy of claims processed while maintaining the set TAT.

Responsibilities:

  • Vetting of claims in line with APA policy, procedures and benefits to ensure accuracy of processing and within set TAT;
  • Processing claims, as required, to ensure that production levels and TAT are met;
  • Negotiating, where necessary, professional fees and charges, including discounts, to control costs;
  • Monitoring, preventing and identifying medical claims fraud through regular claim audits and reporting;
  • Meeting service providers to ensure compliance on contract terms, answering their queries and liaising with the internal reconciliation team to reconcile provider accounts;
  • Following up with providers for bills, discrepancies in bills and other information that holds up claims processing;
  • Approving indemnities for recovery, prepare indemnity reports and submit to management monthly;
  • Participating in company CSR and brand building activities in liaison with other departments;
  • Training, coaching and mentoring staff in order to improve performance and cohesion within the department.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health or a related field
  • Relevant professional qualification
  • At least 4 years relevant experience
  • Interpersonal and Communication skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Medical knowledge
