Job Details The Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) was established by The Government of Kenya through the Anti-Doping Act No. 5 of 2016, with its powers vested in a Board, headed by a Chairman.

The key mandate of the Agency is to carry out anti-doping education/sensitization campaigns and doping tests.

XI1. Vacancy No. ADAK/1/12/2016

Number of Vacancies: One (1) Support Staff II, GRADE ADAK 12

Salaries Scale: 18,000-29,100

Terms of Service: Three (3) Years

[Duties and Responsibilities
  • collecting and delivering office items, documents, mail, parcels and postage;
  • carrying out photocopying and document binding; (iii) maintaining general cleanliness around the area of deployment, collection and disposal of litter;
  • moving and arranging office equipment and furniture;
  • locking and opening office premises; and
  • Ensuring proper sanitation.

    Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
  • Kenya certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade D Plain or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
  • Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.

    2. Driver

    X1. Vacancy No. ADAK/1/11/2016

    Number of Posts: Two (2)

    Driver II, Grade ADAK 11

    Salaries Scale: 27,570-63,300

    Terms of Service: Three (3) Years

    Duties and Responsibilities
  • driving a motor vehicle as authorized for official duty and assignments;
  • carrying out routine checks on the vehicle's cooling, oil, tyre pressure, electrical and brake systems;
  • maintaining records of service and accessories;
  • detecting and reporting of malfunctioning of vehicle systems;
  • maintaining of work tickets for vehicles assigned;
  • reporting traffic incidents or accidents;
  • ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road;
  • ensuring safety of the passengers and/or goods therein; and
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.

    Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D (plain) or equivalent qualification;
  • a current driving license free from current endorsements and valid for all of the classes of vehicles, which the driver is required to drive;
  • attended a First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week obtained at St John Ambulance, or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution;
  • Passed Suitability Test for Driver Grade III;
  • Passed Occupational Test Grade III;
  • Passed Practical Test for Drivers conducted by Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or National Transport and Safety Authority or National Youth Service;
  • a valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police Service;
  • have minimum period of three (3) years driving experience; and
  • Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.

    3. Testing Officer, Assistant

    Vacancy No. ADAK/1/10/2016

    Number of Posts: one (1)

    Salary scale: Ksh. 45,570 – 63,300

    Terms of service: Three (3) Years

    Duties and Responsibilities
  • collecting information on sports activities from sports organizations for testing purposes;
  • preparing testing equipment and materials;
  • storing equipment and materials for doping control process safely;
  • identifying, arranging and maintaining an appropriate Doping Control station;
  • implementing doping control process;

    Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
  • Diploma in any of the following disciplines:- Physical Education, Sports Science or Leisure and Recreation Management from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate in Computer applications from a recognized institution.

    4. Anti-Doping Education Officer

    Vacancy No. ADAK/1/9/2016

    Number of Posts: one

    Salaries Scale: 70,350-96,600

    Terms of Service: Three (3) Years

    Duties and Responsibilities
  • collecting and collating data on active sports disciplines;
  • carrying out anti-doping education needs assessment;
  • developing an anti-doping education program based on identified needs;
  • preparing anti-doping education materials as per the approved curriculum;
  • identifying and setting up the anti-doping education venues;
  • identifying and mobilizing participants for anti-doping education;
  • registering and distributing education materials to participants; and
  • implementing anti-doping education programs

    Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
  • Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines:- Physical Education, Sports Science or Leisure and Recreation Management from a recognized institution;

    OR

    Bachelors’ degree in Social Sciences with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sports Administration and Management from a recognized institution; OR Bachelors’ degree in Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Education (Sciences) or Pharmacy with a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Administration and Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Certificate in Computer applications from a recognized institution.

    How to Apply;
    Candidates interested in the above positions are expected to fulfill the requirements of chapter six of the constitution of Kenya, 2010.

    They must obtain and submit with their application copies of clearance certificates from the following organizations:
    i. Kenya Revenue Authority
    ii. Higher education loans board
    iii. Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission.
    iv. Criminal Investigation Department (certificate of good conduct)
    v. Credit Reference Bureau.

    Those fulfilling the requirements of the positions should submit their applications quoting the vacancy and Vacancy No. on the envelope.
