Responsibilities


Technical support

  • Leads in providing administrative and logistical support for the Regional
    Programmes Office as well as the Regional Project & Field Offices including but
    not limited to planning, organizing and following up of HSA meetings
    deliberations.
  • She/he will link regional programmes with county context teams when conducting activities
  • Assist in preparing reports relating to the project, contribute to project activities and processes in order to achieve desired outputs
    and results within the stipulated timeframes.


    Planning and Coordination

  • Assists the project in research, translating knowledge into policy, comes up
    with advocacy strategies, builds capacity of partners on advocacy, and provides
    technical support to HSA country contexts.

    Key Area Activities

  • Implementation Further, with the guidance from the Director, Project Manager and other
    program teams, provides support in implementation of the HSA project.
  • Further support will be given to the project assistant within the HSA project

    Documentation and reporting]

  • Develops frameworks for ensuring that the project runs effectively and assist in
    following up with officers on timely reporting.
  • Liaising with relevant partners, stakeholders and collaborators at activity level.
  • He/she is the link between the Department and the consultants’ facilitations.
  • Participating in operations research and documentation.
  • Take lead in control and management of the department’s project resources and
    assets.

    Budgeting and Financial Management

  • Managing and participating in activity budgets including processing relevant
    financial transactions.

    Oversight of Adherence to Internal Systems

  • In consultation with the Finance Unit ensures adherence to internal systems by ensuring that standard operating procedures for program implementation are adhered to including travel policy, procurement and asset management
    procedures HR procedures and financial systems.


    Required Qualifications and Skills


    Education

  • A social science, public policy degree or related fields;
  • French both spoken and written will be an added advantage.

    Experience

  • Two years relevant experience in multi-country programming, human resources for
    health advocacy, reproductive health and rights and knowledge of policy issues on
    reproductive health commodities;
  • Knowledge in project management with proven track record in program planning,
    documentation and reporting; and
  • Knowledge of health systems in Africa and health systems strengthening needs.

    Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop respectful, positive relationships with
    a range of partners including policymaker and health care leaders.

    Competences

  • Demonstrated team leader;
  • ICT proficient, strong analytical problem-solving and networking skills;
  • Knowledge in financial planning, budgeting, project monitoring documentation and
    reporting;
  • Well organized, results focused, creative and flexible; and
  • Confidentiality, honesty, integrity and the ability to work with minimal supervision are
    pertinent to the position.
