Amref Project Assistant Jobs in Kenya


Responsibilities

  • Ensuring provision of quality integrated hypertension (and NCD)services including awareness, screening and treatment
  • Healthy Heart Africa project supported sites both at facility and community level.
  • Ensuring that clients with hypertension (and other NCDs) are promptly linked to care, initiated on treatment, retained and actively followed up to achieve BP control.
  • Overseeing adherence counselling activities for clients with hypertension (and other NCD).
  • Ensure hypertension (and other NCD) services provided are in line with the National guidelines.
  • Carry out regular supportive supervision to all the assigned facilities and prepare progress reports
  • Support clinicians to provide quality patient management for clients with hypertension and other health conditions as required
  • Provider regular on-job mentorship to health care workers at the supported sites

    Qualifications

  • A clinical officer or nurse with minimum undergraduate degree in health related field or
    social sciences.
  • Training in chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension or HIV)
  • Training in monitoring and evaluation and is an added advantage
  • At least 4 years working experience post-graduation
  • At least 2 years clinical practice experience working in a busy health facility managing
    chronic diseases including hypertension, diabetes or HIV
  • Experience with commodity management in a busy health care setting
  • Demonstrable experience carrying out capacity building of health workers
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience implementing the Ministry of Health
    Community Health Strategy including interacting with Community Health Workers
  • Experience working in a multi- sectoral team is an added advantage
  • Resident of Nakuru/Kiambu County
  • Good interpersonal skills

    Amref Project Officer Jobs in Kenya

    Responsibilities

  • Participate in development of programme logical frameworks and M&E
    plans
  • Ensure that K-SHIP achieves its objectives and performance targets
  • Ensure that Sub Grantees are supported to adhere to AMREF and GSF programmatic policies and
    operational guidelines
  • Participate in continuous monitoring and evaluation through quality data collection, analyzing and dissemination.
  • Take lead in Capacity Building, Sanitation Marketing and Behaviour Change Communication to promote sanitation and Hygiene
  • Participate in concepts notes and proposal development for donor funding.
  • Ensure reporting standards (timely and quality) are met by supporting sub grantees in reporting.
  • Participate in documentation and promote innovativeness in programme implementation
  • Promote Networking with the various stakeholders – relevant government ministries, donors, partners and communities.
  • Participate in the preparation and review of annual work plans and budgets in conjunction with other K-SHIP teams
  • Facilitate partnerships with micro-finance institutions to offer innovative and sustainable sanitation loan products
  • Participate in all programme advocacy forums
  • Provide support in the design and roll out of innovative sanitation and hygiene business models at community level

    Qualifications

  • First degree in public health or related field. A post graduate training will be an added
    advantage
  • Training in appropriate sanitation approaches and preferably in Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS)
  • Training in Behaviour change communication
  • Must be knowledgeable in sanitation marketing
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience in sanitation promotion through CLTS approach
  • Should be a team player
  • Have good Networking skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work with people from all backgrounds
