AMREF Flying Doctors Captain Jobs in Kenya

Amref Health Africa was officially founded in 1957 to deliver mobile health services and to provide mission hospitals with surgical support. A medical radio network was developed to coordinate the service, and provide communication.



Responsibilities



  • Act as flight crew on AMREF Flying Doctors flights which include outreach flights, medical evacuations and other emergency flights with the highest of safety standards;
  • Ensuring that AMREF operates and complies with all laws, rules and regulations of all authorities of each country in which it operates;
  • Complete statutory and company documentations associated with a flight.
  • Ensure sound knowledge and implementation of safety, security and emergency standards in all aircraft operations.
  • Function in a team environment with flight mission crew and other staff and assist with patient care where practical.
  • Performing functional checks or maintenance test flights when required.
  • Assisting in matters related to flight operations including flight planning in the areas of operation.
  • Maintain familiarity with relevant Kenya air laws and International air legislation and agreed aviation practices and procedures.
  • Train and coach junior pilots in specific areas of experience.
  • Providing assistance to the medical crew during medical interventions as necessary
  • Assisting the Chief Pilot office in matters related to flight operations including safety and quality assurance activities.
  • Represent and uphold company values and positively promote the public profile of AMREF Flying Doctors
  • And other work related duties as may be required


    Required Qualification


  • Must hold a valid Kenyan ATPL with current instrument rating
  • Minimum of 3,000 hours flying experience
  • Minimum of 1500 hours pilot in command time
  • Minimum of 1000 hours on jet aircraft
  • Have a valid Cessna Citation
    Bravo (C550) with minimum of 500 hours on type
  • Have a strong understanding of Kenyan Civil Aviation Regulations (KCARs)
  • Experience flying under EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) standards is an advantage
  • Type rated training captain on Cessna Citation is an added advantage
  • Previous experience with aero medical flights is an added advantage
  • Good communicator; with good command in English language both oral and written
  • Decision making ability and flexible thinking
  • High degree of discipline
