Responsibilities

  • Documentation and Research
  • Development of web content, quarterly project newsletter, success stories and
    documentaries on a regular basis
  • Ensure that project achievements are widely disseminated within Amref and at the county and country level
  • Lead regular compilation of project documentation including success stories

    Technical support

  • In close coordination with the FGM/C and CEFM Senior Technical Advisor, lead the development of project Information, Education and Communication materials
  • Ensure adherence to Koota Injena branding and marking plan
  • Work with the project team and Amref Health Africa USA Communications team to provide updates on ongoing events and activities on a weekly basis
  • Mentor the project team on success stories writing and photography
  • Provide editorial support in the development of regular project deliverables and
    reports

    Monitoring and evaluation

  • Perform the editorial review of the monthly, quarterly and
    annual M&E project
    reports

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in writing and editing performance reports and creating project documentation (such as fact sheets, brochures, newsletter articles, technical briefs, success stories…). Previous experience
    in proposal/grant writing is a plus.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular) and Internet Explorer
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, trouble-shoot, and to meet short- and long-term deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with diverse groups of people
