Position profile

  • The REACH GIS Officer will fulfill the following functions:

    GIS Activities

  • Preparation, conception and production of maps
  • Identify map information needs;
  • Identify and access map information sources;
  • Ensure accurate linkages between spatial databases and assessment data;
  • Ensures that the produced maps meet the requirements of REACH and concerned partners.
  • Supervision and monitoring of mapping related data collection
  • Conceptualize methodologies for collecting data in the field, as according to need;
  • Organize and supervise GIS field missions;
  • Monitor accuracy of data collected;
  • Cross check data collected in the field, ensure regular updates and solve eventual discrepancies.
  • Data Management and Analysis Activities

    Qualifications

  • A good sense of humour about bugs, snakes and bucket showers required;
  • Master degree in Geography/GIS or a related discipline;
  • 2 years of experience in GIS / Database management, preferably in humanitarian context;
  • Considerable experience analysing complex data with R mandatory; knowledge of other statistical
    programming languages and packages a plus;
  • Previous experience with mobile data collection (ODK, ONA, KOBO);
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Suite, particularly Illustrator and InDesign;
  • Excellent team management skills;

    Position profile

    The Appraisal, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is responsible for developing and implementation of appropriate and viable appraisal, monitoring and evaluation systems that are in line with the ACTED’s global AME procedures and contributing to ensuring that ACTED’s projects and programs perform as planned.

    Qualifications

  • Master Level education in a relevant field such as International Relations or Development
  • Extensive project management experience (management, planning, staff development and training
  • skills) in emergency and/or development programmes
  • At least four years of previous work experience in a high management position
  • Proven capabilities in leadership and management required
  • Excellent skills in written and spoken English
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, and flexibility in cultural and organizational terms
  • Knowledge of local language and/or regional experience an asset

    ACTED Reach Wash Cluster Assessment Officer Jobs in South Sudan

    Position profile

  • Under the supervision of, and
    in close coordination with, the IMPACT Country Coordinator and IMPACT HQ in Geneva, the REACH Senior Assessment Officer will be responsible for the management and implementation of all aspects of assessments in country, including assessment planning, data collection and analysis.
  • He/she will also be responsible for related logistics, partner coordination, reporting and finance requirements and will be required to provide input to the strategic development of IMPACT in country and region.

  • The REACH Senior Assessment Officer shall be responsible for:
  • Design in coordination with the IMPACT Country Coordinator, WASH Cluster partners, Country
    Assessment and GIS team, and IMPACT HQ in Geneva, a common WASH assessment tool kit, methodology and replicable analysis plan for WASH actors participating in both development and emergency responses
  • Actively advocate for the establishment of a community of practice around common methodologies, tools and analysis
  • Facilitate a series of monthly workshops - including assessment design and execution, mobile data collection, and IM best-practices - which focus on building WASH partner capacity to fill information gaps in the WASH landscape
  • Using the methodological workshops as foundational elements, collaboratively plan and execute interagency assessments with Cluster partners on a bi-monthly basis

    Qualifications

  • A good sense of humour about bugs and bucket showers required;
  • Excellent academic qualifications, including a Master degree in relevant discipline;
  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in humanitarian settings required;
  • At least 6 months’ experience leading WASH related assessment required;
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills for effective reporting;
  • Excellent team management skills

    CCCM Cluster Coordinator

  • The objective of the CCCM Cluster State Focal Point is to ensure a multi-sectorial response at the State-Level to assist and protect populations residing in displacement sites and to advocate for durable solutions.

  • Establishment and Maintenance of Appropriate Coordination Mechanisms
  • Application of Camp and Site Management Standards and Guidance
  • Camp closure and durable solutions
  • Create relation with national/local authorities, state institutions, local civil society and other relevant actors
