Research Scientists, Nairobi - Kenya

Research Scientists: The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), a regional non-profit research organisation, is looking for accomplished scholars in the following fields to join its multi-disciplinary team of researchers based at its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.

  • Epidemiologist/Public or Community Health Specialist (requires MD) – 1 position

  • Education Specialist (Planning and policy or Economics of education) – 1 position

  • Two positions in any of the following areas:

    o Policy Analyst

    o Poverty Expert

    o Qualitative Expert

    o Urban Expert

    o Economist ( Health, Development, Micro or Macro)

    Each of these positions requires a PhD in a relevant field, at least five years of productive postdoctoral research or teaching experience, and a sustained, strong record of scholarly publications.

    Demonstrated ability to raise and manage project grants will be an added advantage.

    MDs with a PhD in epidemiology or public/community health or related field with less than five years postdoctoral experience may be considered.

    These senior positions come with an attractive, internationally competitive salary and benefit package, including employer paid medical, travel, life and disability insurances, and retirement benefits.

    Allowances toward relocation, housing, home leave travel, dependants' education, and annual leave are provided.

    For all positions, preference will be given to nationals of sub-Saharan African countries. Females and French-speaking candidates are especially encouraged to apply.
