PhD Fellowship in Modelling of Nanoparticle Formation - Swinburne University of Technology

Swinburne University of Technology is a seeking a suitable qualified student from an engineering and/or science background to undertake post-graduate study to develop models for predicting the formation and growth of nanoparticles from supersonic quenching of gases.

The main tasks associated with the project are:

  • review of current designs for producing nanoparticles from supersonic quenching,

  • review of nucleation and growth kinetics, development of one dimensional models for predicting particle growth in a defined temperature and flow regime,
  • incorporation of one dimensional models into multi-dimensional models and validations of these models against existing experimental data.

    Study Subject:

Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Physical Chemistry, Nanotechnology and Mathematical Modelling
