Grants for Young Scientists

In a joint initiative with the CGIAR Challenge Program on Water and Food, IFS is calling for researchers interested in working in teams on topics related to linkages between water management, food production, poverty, and the environment.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in partnership with others from different research backgrounds and with senior researchers from many regional and international research institutions including the International Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering (2iE) and Centre régional pour l'eau potable et l'assainissement (CREPA); Burkina Faso; the International Water Management Institute, Ghana; the TU Delft University, Netherlands, and the Institute for Research and Development (IRD), France.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be:

  • preferably under the age of 40;

  • and not currently associated with a CGIAR research center (please refer to IFS age criteria on the website).

    This application call is particularly interested in recruiting researchers with backgrounds in one or more of the following specialties:

  • Water Resources Management,

  • Remote Sensing,

  • Agricultural Engineering,

  • Hydrology,

  • Social Science (Political Science, Economics)

  • Ecology,

  • Agronomy/Soil Science,

  • GIS
