Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. is pleased to announce a new scholarship program for college students.
Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. has established a scholarship program for college students who are pursuing careers in the dairy industry, and will award $1,500 scholarships during its annual meeting in March 2008 in Kansas City, Mo.
Students pursuing any aspect of the dairy industry are eligible, ranging from dairy herd management to dairy nutrition, genetics or communications.
Applicants must also be enrolled in a two- or four-year accredited college, university or trade school. High school seniors planning to enroll, as well as post-graduates, also are eligible to apply.
Applications are due Jan.15 and must include two letters of recommendation and the most recent high school or college transcript.

Winners will be selected based on the following criteria:
Applicant's commitment and passion to have a career in the dairy
industry, and responses to three essay questions
Extracurricular activities, awards, recognition and work experience
Academic achievement
Financial need
