ZOA Project Officer - Livelihoods Jobs in Uganda;The Project Officer, under the supervision of the Project Manager and alongside other Project Officers, is responsible for day‑to‑day planning and implementation of ZOA activities under the DRIVE project. The role involves mobilizing and training farmers in the Participatory Integrated Plan (PIP) approach, supporting farmer‑to‑farmer training, and facilitating market linkages. The officer will also coordinate with other ZOA livelihoods teams to ensure integrated support to project participants.


Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Implementation

  • Implement project activities in line with project documents, donor procedures, and targets.

  • Facilitate and participate in capacity‑building events on PIP methodology, facilitation skills, ICT‑based extension, and technical trainings.

  • Support step‑by‑step creation and implementation of PIPs by farmers and families.

  • Supervise and oversee experimental plots/Integrated Plot Plans (IPPs) as demonstration sites.

  • Facilitate documentation and learning among PIP farmers.

  • Support formation of farmer groups, institutional capacity building, and market linkages.

  • Provide technical backstopping to farmers via phone and in person.


    Reporting & Knowledge Management, MEAL

  • Provide inputs to implementation plans and monthly reports.

  • Identify and document lessons learned and best practices.

  • Prepare and submit success stories.

  • Contribute to project reports and implementation plans.

  • Collect monitoring data according to ZOA systems.


    Representation & Coordination

  • Participate in technical working groups and coordination meetings at sub‑county
    and parish level.

  • Work closely with local government actors at sub‑county and village level.

  • Collaborate with PALM Corps staff (partner organization) to implement the project.


    Accountability

  • Sensitize stakeholders on feedback and complaint mechanisms.

  • Document complaints and feedback following proper procedures.

  • Work with MEAL team to analyze feedback and inform adaptive management.


    Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Agricultural Sciences or related field.

  • Specialized training as ToT in PIP or Farmers Field School methodology is a plus.

  • Minimum 2 years’ successful experience implementing PIP in humanitarian settings.

  • Experience in humanitarian contexts an advantage.

  • Understanding of local context, culture, and languages.

  • Excellent spoken and written English.
