Zetech University Laboratory Technician - Medical Laboratory Jobs in Kenya;Responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of laboratory facilities, providing technical support for teaching and research activities, and mentoring students in developing practical skills and understanding of laboratory protocols.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of laboratory procedures, experiments, and results.

  • Manage laboratory supplies and inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing reagents, chemicals, and materials.

  • Ensure all laboratory activities comply with safety regulations and protocols.

  • Regularly clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to conduct experiments and tests accurately.

  • Perform routine and specialized tests on samples, including chemical analyses, microbiological tests, and histological exams.

  • Prepare samples for testing by processing, preserving, and storing them according to standard procedures.

  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, order, and care of equipment and laboratory spaces.

  • Assist lecturers in marking and grading students’ practical work reports.

  • Prepare laboratories and set up for students’ practical learning activities; instruct and supervise students during experiments.

  • Prepare manuals for laboratory use, practical lessons, and
    review them in line with curriculum updates.

  • Prepare laboratory rules and procedures, sensitize students, and enforce adherence.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications / Experience

  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or related qualification from a recognized institution.

  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar role.

  • Membership with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) and valid practicing license.

  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications.
