Youth Agenda MEAL Assistant Jobs in Kenya
Key Responsibilities
Support the development, review, and use of programme monitoring and data collection tools.
Support the collection, entry, cleaning, and management of programme data.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date programme databases and MEAL records.
Support programme teams in tracking project indicators, targets, outputs, and outcomes.
Conduct routine data quality checks to identify inconsistencies, gaps, and errors.
Support field monitoring visits, surveys, assessments, and other data collection activities.
Administer digital and physical data collection tools as required.
Assist in analysing programme data and preparing basic tables, summaries, and visualisations.
Support the preparation of programme, donor, and internal monitoring reports.
Support documentation of lessons learned, good practices, success stories, and emerging programme findings.
Assist in tracking feedback, complaints, and responses in accordance with YAA procedures.
Support programme teams to use monitoring findings to strengthen implementation and decision‑making.
Undertake field travel within Kenya to support monitoring, data collection, and programme activities when required.
Perform any other MEAL‑related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
Diploma or degree in Monitoring and Evaluation or a related field.
At
least 3 years’ professional experience in monitoring, research, data collection, or programme support.
Good organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Willingness and ability to undertake field travel within Kenya for monitoring, data collection, and programme activities.
Commitment to confidentiality, ethical data management, and responsible handling of programme and participant information.
Familiarity with KoboToolbox or other digital data collection platforms is an added advantage.
Familiarity with Google Forms, Google Sheets, Power BI, SPSS, R, Stata, or other data management, analysis, and visualisation tools is an added advantage.
Experience supporting surveys, assessments, research, field‑based data collection, or MEAL databases is an added advantage.
Experience working with youth‑focused, governance, development, or civil society programmes is an added advantage.
Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt to new tools, and work in a dynamic programme environment.
