Job Description

Our company: Yetem Trading PLC has been engaged in trading business since 1983 E.C. and owned a cosmetics house that supplies and distributes different brands. Yetem Trading has its extensive customers base from all over Ethiopia, and has created an assortment of collections that has gained it’s reputation to be the leading name in the cosmetics sector.

Currently we are investing to establish a manufacturing unit of personal care cosmetics and plastic. The company owns 5000 Sqm plot manufacturing facility in Sheger City Administration which is at 4 km North of Addis Ababa at specific place called Sululta. We installed technologically advanced machines and we are on the verge of starting production.

Qualification and Experience:

  • MA in Accounting, Accounting & Finance with minimum 8 or BA in Accounting with a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller of group company - trading company, manufacturing, import export ,Out of which minimum of 6 years experience on managerial role. Exposure in Trading and Import & Export, FMCG as well as manufacturing is Mandatory

    Major Duties

  • Timely and accurate reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of financial results

  • Periodic operational and financial reporting to the concerned managers

  • Supervising for timely and accurate completion of the periodic closing of accounts

  • Establish and maintain control systems to safeguard company properties

  • Ensuring the maintenance of proper and accurate Fixed Assets recording

  • Coordinate the company’s annual budget preparation; monitor and report departmental budgeting discipline and performance to ensure achievement of set objectives.

  • Coordinating the periodic sales and production forecasts

  • Lead the development and implementation of appropriate costing system

  • Lead the development, revision and implementation of cost effective financial management and accounting systems in accordance with the relevant accounting principles and business requirements.

  • In collaboration with the Management Team, define annual financial performance target, financial indicators, performance targets, and monitor and evaluate accordingly.

  • Oversee effective implementation of Company financial policies and procedures and ensure relevant government regulations are understood and duly observed by all
    concerned.

  • Follow up compliance with tax and other regulatory and prudential requirements and guidelines, and ensure timely and accurate payment of all tax and pension obligations to the concerned government organizations.

  • Direct the statutory reporting to the appropriate government agencies and making sure tax returns are made within allotted deadlines.

  • Review transactions to ensure they are properly recorded and books of accounts are balanced, and authorize records of transactions and the opening of general and subsidiary ledger accounts.

  • Facilitate internal and external audit activities, and lead the implementation of auditor recommendations.

  • Lead and coordinate the preparation and dissemination of periodic financial statements and management accounting reports to reflect product, work unit and Company performance.

  • Develop, review and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective credit and working capital management.

  • Supervise timely collection of incomes (sales, fees, levies, rent and other funds) as well as timely payment to creditors and suppliers.

  • Review the correctness and completeness of payment instruments and approve payments within scope.

  • Direct the timely preparation of accurate bank reconciliations for all Company accounts.

  • Monitor the financial status and exposures of the Company, and availability of adequate finance to accomplish daily operations and satisfy financial obligations, provide advice to the GM/Management team where appropriate.

  • Lead the development and implementation of appropriate and effective cost controlling and analysis procedures and performance analysis and reporting mechanisms for improved cost management and operational efficiency.

  • Lead surveys to prepare recommendations for improvements, controls, new methods, and other changes to improve the efficiency of the financial management and accounting system.
