WRA Hydrologist II Jobs in Kenya; This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a Senior Officer

Hydrology Function

The cadre is responsible for identifying, mapping and developing of surface water monitoring network; constructing, installing and maintaining hydrological stations; collecting surface water data, analyzing and preparing hydrological reports

Duties and Responsibilities

Compiling data, cleaning, analysing for preparation of technical reports and other documentation regarding hydrological work

Evaluating hydrological reports and advising on the viability of water use projects for surface water allocation under the supervision of a senior officer

Assessing hydrometric stations and recommending rehabilitation requirements

Undertaking spatial analysis of surface water resources and preparing reports

Compiling and preparing the data for development of rating equations for river monitoring stations

Evaluation of hydrological reports for permit applications

Performing hydrological computations, data cleaning, analyses and report writing

Job Specifications

Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Hydrology, water and environmental engineering, civil engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

Proficiency in computer applications
