World Vision Regional People & Culture Director Jobs in Ethiopia

About the RoleAs Regional People & Culture Director, West Africa (Africa 3), you will provide strategic leadership to VisionFund International’s operations in Senegal, Mali, and Ghana. The role maximizes human resource potential, optimizes organizational performance, sustains culture, and ensures alignment with VFI’s strategy.

Reporting to the Global Director of P&C and matrix reporting to the Regional Director, you will build strong relationships with Global Centre’s Centres of Expertise and external networks. You will also matrix‑manage MFI People & Culture Managers, leading and developing a proficient and engaged team.

Key Objectives

Provide direction, oversight, support, and capacity building to the P&C function in the region.

Act as trusted advisor to Regional Director and MFI Boards on P&C decisions, especially for senior roles.

Ensure oversight and control of people‑related processes and RACI matrix across MFIs, Global P&C, Regional Directors, and SMTs.

Requirements

Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in HR leadership or senior HR management with significant organizational development experience in complex, international organizations.

University degree with strong HR emphasis.

CIPD/SHRM or equivalent certification is an advantage.

Experience in financial inclusion, microfinance, or financial services preferred.

At least 1–2 years’ experience working in two of the assigned countries.

Proven contribution as a member of a multinational leadership group reporting to CEO‑level roles.

Thorough understanding of HR management, staff development, OD practices, and group dynamics.

Demonstrated record of critical and analytic thought influencing organizational direction and change.

Experience collaborating with Boards of Directors.

Strong business acumen and understanding of financial metrics informing HR strategy.

Native French speaker with excellent English, or native English speaker with excellent French.
