Increased Advocacy, external engagement and Partnerships for CWB

  • Preposition evidence for external advocacy and engagement (health evidence, education, WASH) with the SEL Director by May 2023

  • Strengthen Joining Forces regional collaboration during 3 international Calendar events or donor engagement (RL, Communications) by August 2023

  • Strengthen Open Government partnership (OGP) structures in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Senegal and Sierra Leone by September 2023

  • At least one partner/ donor engagement and learning event organized in WARO to showcase WV work in the region by August 2023.

    Creative and effective safeguarding integrated into business processes, departments, and ministries of HEA, TD, and Advocacy

  • Strengthen Regional PSEA Task Force support to Field Offices by March 2023

  • Strengthen PSEA integration into Humanitarian
    Responses and interventions such as Cash Transfers and Vision Fund work (HEA, Vision Fund, WAHER Comm/Adv specialists) by March 2023

  • Document evidence of functional Community complaints and feedback mechanisms (SEL) by September 2023

  • Build Field office capacity to creatively integrate and document Safeguarding across all ministries through enhanced organizational culture for safeguarding by September 2023

    It takes a world campaign phase 2 effectively implemented in Field Offices

  • Support Budget Toolkit implementation in Ghana and Sierra Leone and demonstrate results in achieving greater allocation of resources for child protection by government and donors by July 2023 .

  • Undertake VAC policy analysis in partnership with GC and NO Consultants by March 2023

  • Document evidence of It takes a World Campaign final year work across the region by September 2023

  • Participate in development and implementation of Campaign Sustainability and Transition by September 2023 Partner with F&D in building capacity and documenting Behavioural changes toward VAC issues

    Social Accountability approaches lead to improved public services

  • Build National Office capacity to use CVA for national, regional and global level advocacy (Chad, Mali and Mauritania) and OGP engagement by June 2023

  • Showcase WV Social Accountability work in at least 2 external Facing events by September 2023

  • Undertake a Refresh on CVA DIQA (DME) & CVA essential indicators. With SEL Director by September 2023

    Support the SDO in the succession planning for the Regional Advocacy,
    campaigns & Safeguarding Advisor role, develop a clear development plan for the new hire and provide comprehensive onboarding to the role.


  • In collaboration with P&C and SDO identify capable staff and develop a capacity development plan with the view of building staff capacity to execute the roles attached to the job by March 2023.

  • Provide clear recommendations on continuous improvement areas for the identified member of staff between June-August 2023.

  • Delegate key roles to the identified staff at the opportune time to foster learning and coaching, introduce to the regional networks and build his/her capacity to fully play the role between June-September 2023.

    Key Deliverables

  • Monthly Progress reports (Covering all 5 Key areas of performance)

  • Provide a comprehensive Handover report detailing all aspects of the performance areas on business continuity.

    Competences, Qualifications and Attitudes required

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Development Studies or a related area.

  • Strong background in advocacy leadership in West Africa (national or regional) at a senior level on international issues, including policy development and supporting advocacy as part of programs- at least ten years’. demonstrated experience.

  • Possess practical experience in building functional networks and engaging in coalitions with peer organizations.

  • Experience Campaigning for and with Children with demonstrable understanding and experience of how to connect Children’s issues with public opinion and actions.

  • Experience in strategic evidence-based advocacy and public campaigning in an NGO environment, with a proven record in successfully leading the development and implementation of successful advocacy and campaign strategies to achieve policy and normative change.

  • Highly developed analytical writing skills and ability to analyze complex data and to summarize and communicate them in ways that are accessible to a range of audiences from different cultural backgrounds.

  • Ability to manage and coordinate different workstreams across many contexts.

  • Excellent training, facilitation, and team-building skills.

  • Knowledge of the regional institutions and the way they function.

  • Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mindsets.

  • Fluency in written and spoken French and English is essential.
