World Vision NGO World Vision National Director – Roster Job Vacancies in Uganda

We are looking for candidates who fit one of the following profiles:

  • An experienced INGO leader who has served successfully at the country director level or higher.
  • A CEO or senior C-suite executive of a multinational corporation, preferably with Marketing or business development experience.
  • Potential candidates should have previous experience managing an organization of over 100 staff and a complex budget of $10 million USD or more. Donor Relations experience with bi-lateral and multi-lateral donors such as USAID, DFID, Global Fund, WFP, etc. strongly preferred. As a faith-based, Christian INGO, World Vision seeks candidates who are in agreement with and can support and embody our Core Values.
  • A World Vision National is a highly accomplished visionary leader who combines proven business disciplines with inspirational management skills to effectively communicate global initiatives, cultivate relationships, and identify opportunities to successfully drive World Vision country growth and development.

    Qualifications

  • 10+ years ever increasing leadership experience in relief and development and/or the for-profit sector.
  • MBA, MPH, MA/MS or equivalent experience.
  • Fluency in English required. Fluency in French, Spanish, Arabic or Portuguese required for some locations.
  • Previous life/work experience in the host country or region preferred.
  • Able to travel approximately 25+ %, including international travel.

    World Vision NGO Response Programmes Director Job Vacancies in Uganda

    Job Summary

    The Response Programmes Director oversees/leads the Sector Programming Team, including Program Officer(s), Design Monitor Evaluation (DME), Humanitarian Accountability and Information Management. The Programme Director supports the Response Director (RD) and Operations Director (OD) in designing the response strategy and operations plan and works in close coordination with both.

    Responsibilities

  • Establish, lead, resource and staff the programmes unit to meet response needs:
  • Lead the programme planning process to ensure alignment with context, humanitarian needs, response strategy as well as operational feasibility and technical quality:
  • Oversee donor liaison and advocacy is undertaken to resource operations plan to address humanitarian needs. The Response Programmes Director will ensure that the GAM team undertake the following activities:
  • Ensure support for Finance to establish grant management system to guarantee fulfillment of donor requirements:
  • The Response Programmes Director will ensure that the DME team undertake the following activities:

    Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3-5 years in leadership role in the humanitarian assistance and development sector, with a significant portion of this in INGOs.
  • 5 years experience in humanitarian assistance work.
  • Demonstrated understanding of key humanitarian principles, standards and best practices.
  • University degree in Humanitarian Studies or relevant field. Masters degree preferred.
  • Experience in program management and implementation of multi-sectoral emergency response projects.
  • Intensive experience in leading a multi-cultural team of professionals.
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Experience working in war zones / fragile contexts.
  • Experience in engaging with governmental institutions and multilateral agencies.

    Job Summary

    Response Operations Director leads the Operations team and oversees the implementation of the response activities. He/she transforms the response

    strategy into implemented reality, managing day-to-day sector activities and providing technical guidance to the Programmes team for design and programme quality.

    World Vision NGO Programme Manager - Strategic Initiatives Job Vacancies in Uganda

    Job Summary

    The Programme Manager provides programme and project management capability, as a member of the Private Funding leadership teams, to lead and support delivery of relevant WV Partnership Strategic Initiatives within the Global Resource Development (GRD) function. As such, the Programme Manager works with and is a key contributor to the Strategy Realization Office (SRO).

  • 6 - 8 years’ experience leading Global Programme and/or Project Management across multiple countries/project sites, and diverse range of project types (technology and business).
  • Experience leading both operations and project-based teams in a global, virtual environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other members of the GRD leadership team, other Partnership senior leaders and their teams, third-party service providers and staff.
  • Financial or economic analysis experience for feasibility study and decision management.
  • Ability to lead through collaboration and influence the GRD leadership team to gain alignment and participation in planning and reporting out on achievement of objectives.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with business stakeholders and external partners of varied backgrounds and experiences.
