Job Responsibilities

Programme Design, Management & Reporting

  • Ensure project logframes and M&E plans are realistic.

  • Review and submit narrative and periodic reports to stakeholders.

  • Monitor Disaster Management project progress and adherence to grant requirements.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with national office technical specialists.

  • Track humanitarian landscape and emerging risks.

  • Roll out and implement Disaster Management grants in line with donor standards.

  • Standardize monitoring tools and share lessons learned for local planning.

  • Review implementation and expenditure levels with finance team.

  • Follow up on audit recommendations and ensure compliance.

  • Support recruitment and orientation of project staff.

  • Build staff capacity on donor programming guidelines.

    Quality Assurance & Technical Support

  • Ensure assessments, designs, monitoring, and evaluation meet standards.

  • Review project designs and implementation plans.

  • Provide timely analysis and recommendations to leadership.

  • Coordinate baselines, surveys, and evaluations.

  • Collate and interpret relevant data from DM grant projects.

  • Prepare narrative and financial progress reports for NO, SO, donors, and partners.

  • Support situational analyses and baseline surveys.

  • Ensure appropriate use of information management systems.

  • Document initiatives for accountability and share lessons learned.

  • Profile DM projects internally and externally with Communications department.

    Resource Acquisition for Disaster Management

  • Develop competitive funding proposals aligned with donor requirements.

  • Respond to donor and government queries in coordination with RAM.

  • Develop concepts to scale up DM initiatives.

  • Provide updates to support offices and donors on funding commitments.

  • Participate in donor budget negotiations.

    Advocacy, Networking & Partnerships

  • Represent WV Kenya in national Disaster Management forums.

  • Forge linkages with NDMA, UN, donors, INGOs, and agencies.

  • Support community‑led monitoring of public service delivery.

  • Coordinate donor field visits with RAM and DM teams.

  • Facilitate donor engagement with
    UN, USG, IOM, BHA, ECHO, and others.

  • Ensure timely responses to donor queries and quality representation.

    Capacity Building & Learning

  • Design trainings for staff on DM and food assistance.

  • Facilitate trainings for NDMT, IDMC, COVACA, Do‑No‑Harm, and DRR.

  • Promote continuous learning through research, analysis, and documentation.

  • Provide technical backstopping across multi‑sectoral programming.

    Qualifications / Work Experience

  • Academic Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, Development, Project Planning & Management, or related field.

  • Academic Master’s Degree in International Development (advantage).

  • Professional Minimum of five (5) years’ INGO experience across varying contexts.

  • Professional Strong knowledge of Disaster Management, humanitarian coordination, and anticipatory actions.

  • Professional Experience in resource mobilization and fundraising.

  • Professional Understanding of donor regulations and grants programming.

  • Professional Prior experience in fragile/emergency contexts preferred.

  • Professional Ability to engage strategically with government, UN, and INGOs.

  • Professional Strong budgetary, financial management, and organizational skills.

  • Professional Computer literacy in spreadsheets and databases.

  • Professional Mature and committed Christian able to provide spiritual leadership.

  • Professional Willingness to travel to field sites and work in multicultural teams.

  • Professional Excellent written and spoken English.
