Major Responsibilities
Staff Facilitation
Facilitate timely transport of staff to and from work and official duties.
Ensure safety of staff and vehicle during journeys.
Mobilize additional vehicles and drivers for key events such as donor visits, campaigns, evaluations, and baselines.
Facilitate staff, visitors, and donors to and from the field.
Vehicle Care and Maintenance
Maintain vehicle cleanliness at all times.
Keep vehicle movement logbook updated.
Check mechanical and operational soundness of the vehicle.
Ensure vehicle servicing is done at required intervals.
Verify all vehicle tools are intact and in place.
Undertake minor repairs and recommend major repairs.
Park vehicle at designated areas as per WVK policy.
Seek permission for vehicle use as per laid‑down policy.
Obey traffic laws and maintain maximum care of the vehicle.
Submit spare keys to Fleet Management for safe custody.
Surrender vehicle keys to supervisors at end of trips.
Report malfunctions to fleet office and initiate procurement for repairs.
Reporting
Prepare monthly and other vehicle reports and file copies after approval.
Forward invoices and fuel returns to fleet management for payment.
Submit detailed accident reports for claim processing.
Administration
Facilitate delivery of parcels and mails.
Liaise with service providers to ensure quality services.
Plan and coordinate field facilitation services with staff.
Support community mobilization.
Act as bank agent for transactions.
Qualifications / Work Experience
Academic KCSE Certificate.
Professional Minimum of three (3) years’ driving experience with class C1, C, CE, D3, CD licenses (new classification).
Professional Basic knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance.
Professional Computer literacy certificate.
Professional Reference letter from local chief.
Professional First Aid and safety certification (advantage).
Professional Defensive driving certification (advantage).
Professional Prior NGO driving experience (advantage).
Professional Must be a local resident of Machakos County.
Professional Must attach CV, copy of ID (both sides), valid Driver’s License, and reference letter from local chief.
