World Vision Program Officer, Careers in South Sudan


Purpose of Position:

  • World Vision South Sudan is seeking a Program Officer’s to facilitate programme development and resource acquisition for both resilience and emergency response programming with high standards of appropriateness,

    Key Responsibilities:

    Grants Acquisition:

  • Work with field-based staff to develop concept papers and prepare proposals (including logical frameworks, draft budgets, budget narratives, and monitoring and evaluation plans) for major government, private and multi-lateral donors.
  • Assist Senior Programme Officer and PDQA Director in identifying and defining funding sources from USAID, DFATD, DFAT, EU, UN and other public donors to support existing and planned programming activities.
  • Take a leading role on key bid elements including program design, strategic partnerships, presentation of evidence and demonstrated track record to ensure quality applications are submitted.

    Knowledge Transfer:

  • Support Project Managers in compiling quality reports.
  • Share donor regulations with project managers to enable them to be compliant with the specific donor requirements.

    Other:

  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Programme Officer and PDQA Director.
  • Attend and participate in National Office and Zonal strategic meetings, lessons learned and other events which relate to resource acquisition and management.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from accredited university.
  • At least 3 years of previous experience in project design, proposal writing and donor relations for an INGO in a relief and / or development context. At least one year of field-based work in a similar, conflict-prone environment is required.
  • Experience developing high value programs and proposals in the following fields preferred:
  • Health & Nutrition, Food Assistance, Economic Recovery & Livelihoods, Education, Children in Emergencies, WASH, and Protection.
  • Experience in working on resilience programming in fragile contexts preferred.
  • Experience negotiating with Government, Bi / Multi-lateral Agencies, private donors.
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Attend and participate in National Office and Zonal strategic meetings, lessons learned and other events which relate to
    resource acquisition and management.

    World Vision Senior Advisor, Quality & Innovation (Education) Careers in South Sudan

    Key Responsibilities:

    Set Strategic Priorities:

  • Within the context of the Partnership strategy, responsible for helping us answer “what sector approaches drive impact”, “what learning can we apply” and ‘what new innovations should we adopt’.
  • Champion cross-sector collaboration around scalable innovative solutions.
  • Develop sector guidance ((including global minimum standards, project models, capacity building strategies and curricula, and M&E tools).
  • Ensure sector guidance is complete, current and practical for field purposes.
  • Ensure that the guidance is actionable without being prescriptive.
  • Ensures it reflects WV’s distinctive of child focused, Christ centered and community empowering.
  • Oversees the quality of sector programming, in alignment with global sectoral approach and prioritized project models.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant academic field
  • In-depth knowledge of sector programming including evidence based sector programming.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in sector programming in field location.
  • Experience in overseeing or supporting multi country programmes.
  • Experience in grant funded programmes by bilateral and multilateral donors.
  • Experience in working with faith, faith actors and faith related issues in development.

    Build Capacities:

  • With TSO, build organizational agility and culture that supports quality and innovation in sector programming.
  • Provides thought leadership in order to find evidence based and high impact solutions to sector challenges.
  • With D/KM and CoP, apply sector learning to ensure improvement of sector guidance.
  • Collaborating with other sector innovation leads, design and manage processes to identify, vet and pilot innovative approaches in the sector both from within WV and outside that can maximize WV’s contribution to CWB in alignment with strategic priorities.
