World Vision International NGO Senior Business Development Officer Vacancies in Uganda


Responsibilities

  • Work with WVU Technical Programmes Unit and WVU Integrated Programmes staff, Support Office and Global Centre colleagues as well as other contributors (including from partner organizations) to ensure high quality project design.
  • Be the lead writer on grant proposals.
  • Working closely with Finance and programmes staff to develop budgets.
  • Working closely with colleagues in M&E, security, procurement, HR and other departments to ensure all components of the proposal are well designed and articulated.
  • Leading liaising with donor, as appropriate, throughout the application process.
  • Note: given the seniority of this role within the GAM department, the jobholder will be allocated the proposals that are of higher-than-average complexity, budget and strategic importance.

    Qualifications

  • University degree in management, development, or related field; MA, Msc or MBA preferred
  • At least 5 years field-based experience in international development in East African region and demonstrated knowledge of relevant sectorial and operational areas.
  • Demonstrated experience in programme development and fundraising.
  • Experience with proposal development including support and writing with various donors, particularly US Government, European Union, UN agencies, private foundations and corporations required.
  • Experience representing the organization and its interests to a diverse range of local and international government officials, donor agencies, local civil society organizations, other international organizations, the media and the public.

    World Vision International NGO Project Officer – INSPIRE Vacancies in Uganda

    Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Implementation of Project CBIM interventions with the greatest possible fidelity and in cross-reference to DREAMS activities aligned to the approved grant proposal requirements.
  • Child Protection Roles & Responsibilities
  • Mobilization of communities, local organizations and institutions for effective project implementation.
  • Build Project level partnerships, networks and coalitions with civil society organizations and local government institutions.
  • Monitoring progress, Documentation and Reporting
  • Proper and efficient management and utilization of Project finances and assets.

    Qualifications

  • University degree and/or in Social Science, Social Worker, Development Studies, Education or any relevant field.
  • Post Graduate Qualification in Human Rights, Project Planning & Management, Development Studies or child protection/development from a recognized institution is an added advantage
  • A sound understanding of social justice and Human Rights issues with demonstrated experience in Children’s Protection and rights advocacy, and networking
  • At least three years’experience mobilizing and facilitating communities for development
  • Previous experience working with children and Project Partners is an added advantage
  • Familiarity with standards and guidelines for Child Protection programming and coordination as well as guidance
  • Strong communication (both oral and written) and documentation skills,
  • Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability
  • Must be highly reliable and independent.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to ride motorcycle

    Responsibilities

    Qualifications

  • Degree in social development or related field desired
  • At least 3 years of experience in M&E and development communication
  • Spiritual maturity; clear articulation of personal faith in Christ about how their faith informs their life and work. Able to stand above denominational diversities.
  • DME experience.
  • Evidence building experience/Knowledge and experience in knowledge management
  • At least three years of development communication experience
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
  • Must be computer literate
  • A good team player
  • Good communication and good inter-personal skills

    World Vision International NGO Project Officer 1 - Resilience and Livelihood Vacancies in Uganda

    Responsibilities

  • Take overall lead in the coordination of field level activities
  • Ensure Small holder farmers’ groups are mobilized, organized and strengthened into strong business groups/cooperatives (rural producer cooperatives, marketing cooperatives, Savings groups/Savings and Credit Cooperatives) for bulk purchase of inputs, value addition, bulking and collective marketing of produce
  • Develop the farmer's capacity to improve production and productivity of selected enterprises of desired quality by the market through demonstrations to farmer's
  • Establish and follow up demonstrations to facilitate production and productivity among the farmers
  • Coordinate partners in implementation of agreed action plans.
  • Ensure Integration of Resilience and Livelihood activities with other internal and external programmes including that of governments.
  • Provide training and backstopping on gender to partners
  • Build the capacity of farmers’ business groups/cooperatives to collectively engage local leaders on identified issues.
  • Mobilize communities to participate in annual agricultural events – such as agricultural shows, World Food Day

    Qualifications

  • Minimum of a diploma in agriculture or agribusiness or any other relevant discipline. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in community work and engagement Agricultural, Economic Development and Livelihood
  • Entrepreneurship, micro finance and strong agribusiness skills
  • Computer literate
  • Writing and reporting skills
  • Networking and influencing skills
  • Ability to communicate in applicable local language(s)
  • Passion for children.
  • Track record demonstrating high integrity, reliability and dependable
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
