Job Description:

Protect, promote and support Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) program in the health system, including health facilities with due emphasis on enhancing the availability and integration of IYCF counselling services.

Assist health facilities in the establishment and utilization of Breast-Feeding Spaces (BFSs) for a holistic IYCF and psychosocial support to pregnant, lactating women and their children who are facing emergency situations.

Support communities and health posts in demonstration of practical food cooking sessions

Supporting community mobilization and sensitization activities on CMAM and IYCF programs through establishment and strengthening of IYCF services

Establish/strengthen MtMSGs and FtFSGs to promote and support CMAM and IYCF health promotion and education activities, facilitate active detection and early referral of acute malnutrition of cases to health facilities etc.

Print, laminate and provide the necessary IYCF guidelines and protocols for running IYCF PROGRAM

Support and encourage on the promotion of functional linkage between HWs, HEWs and support groups.

Ensure Job aids are available in Health posts (HEW quick reference, Look up table, report format, tally sheet, Plump nut and drug stock control balance form)

Ensure the integration of IYCF to CMAM programming through strengthening of psychosocial & emotional sites & IYCF promotion & counseling.

Print, laminate and provide the necessary OTP/SC guidelines and protocols for running OTP/SC, photocopy for other related activities.

Conduct capacity assessment of SC, OTP sites, and staffs to identify the minimum support package/transition.
