Job Description

Major Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the planning and implementation of all JEOP IDP activities in the woreda by closely working with the program team, commodity team and stakeholders at woreda level.

  • Ensure the best management of food commodities as per the minimum commodity management standards by Communicating and acting with commodity team at head office and woreda level.

  • Lead the planning and implementation of food distribution to beneficiaries in a timely manner and to the best standard required by closely working with the commodity team at head office and woreda level

  • Supervise and lead the commodity team at woreda level to insure best commodity management practice in warehousing and distribution to beneficiaries on timely manner.

  • Provide written reports, data and feed back to JEOP program team and commodity team at head office and POO level constantly in the course of JEOP IDP Program implementation.

  • Maintain a strong and smooth relationship with Woreda level and Kebele level major stakeholders in planning and implementing the JEOP IDP program

  • Maintain and demonstrate a decent and respectful manner in serving the target communities and in interacting with the society in general.

    Term of Employment: Four Months (With possibility of extension based on performance and Budget availability)

    Job Requirements

  • Qualifications Required: BA/BSc
    Degree in Agriculture, Disaster Management, Rural Development, & Development Studies.

    3. Work Experience and Skill required:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in relief and/or emergency response program

    4. Special Criteria:

  • Knowledge on major international Humanitarian Standard humanitarian and emergency response standards and guidelines such as the Red Cross code of conduct, sphere standards and national targeting guidelines on food assistance is required.

  • Knowledge and skills of coordinating community participation, and Sensitization is conducting data gathering and verification, Knowledge on case study writing on best practices and achievements is required

  • Knowledge of Local Language is advantageous
