Job Description

Purpose of the position:

Maintenance officer does electric, plumbing and small maintenance works at Head Office and Expat Residences.

Major Responsibilities:

Electrical Work

Identify all electrical problems and give the solution in the head office premises and expat houses.

Performs minor electrical maintenance include replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, parking lot light and fences light etc.) by using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.

Installs electrical wiring; new electrical services, wiring during remodelling electric lines; replaces and repairs wiring as needed.

Replaces light bulbs, resets breakers, replaces broken outlet covers, etc

Plumbing

Performs minor plumbing maintenance ( replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).

Makes minor repairs on toilets and faucets, such as tightening or replacing toilet seats, replacing faucet seals

Repair Work

Performs minor painting and plastering work

Repairs, assembles or adjusts furniture and shelves.

Repair door locks, file cabinets, lockers, blind curtains

Reporting

Documents work order/request and report on the completion of the

work, spare part used, time taken and cost to the Facilitates Coordinator

Job Requirements

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

Vocational school certificate in electric and plumbing work

Knowledge of electric, plumbing work
Flexible, efficient and cooperative

Working knowledge of English language

Commitment to WVE s aims, values and principles

Honest, trustworthy and respectful

Demonstrate sound work ethics

Minimum 2 years of experience preferably holding similar position.


Working Environment / Conditions:

Work environment: Office-based and expat residences
On call – 40%
