Position: Community Development Facilitator MNCH – Hoima

Report to: Project Coordinator

Location: Hoima

Responsibilities

  • Take the lead in the roll out of the MNCH projects in the Project site by ensuring that the projects are using the most appropriate innovative and cost effective technologies.
  • Provide necessary technical guidance to system’s partners during the course of the project
  • Manage, and supervise all core interventions at the lower level with in the DIP
  • Ensure that all MNCH and other related deliverables are achieved according to the detailed implementation plan.
  • Support to Community Health Information Management System strengthening by ensure the operationalization of the community health Mobile phone platform for reporting on ttC for and the entire CHMIS MoH System.

    Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

  • Must have a University Degree in Nursing/Midwifery or Public Health.
  • Working experience in working in the area of Maternal Newborn and Child Health at any level of implementation
  • Knowledge and experience in implementation of community based MNCH integrated services is key
  • Experience in working communities with good knowledge of public health system and structures
  • Knowledge of MNCH methodologies and other related approaches
  • Strong interpersonal communication and counseling skills.

    World Vision Food Assistance Officer Careers in Uganda

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of field operation through Provision of technical oversight through periodic visits to monitor and review all aspects of the food programming and systems as well as to provide appropriate feedback and recommendation to the Commodity Officer, Field Coordinator and Food Monitors.
  • Manage project staff under his/her portfolio with support from Assistant Commodity Manager, Food Assistance Manager, and other response management.
  • Represent World Vision in any meetings related to food program in the area of portfolio as necessary.
  • Ensure all documentation and accountability requirements are in place for warehouse management and distribution as per Food Resources Manual/ Donors and or meet the audit standards.
  • Ensure that proper food handling and accountability systems are in place including the maintenance of all required records and documentation and installation and operation of CTS at the district level.
  • Ensure humanitarian accountability systems are in place, functioning complaints Response Mechanism, and all Project Committee at field level( CHD, CMC, FMC and RWC).
  • To supervise timely production of distribution reports by the Commodity Officer, Field Coordinators and team and consolidate all food assistance reports, ensure its accuracy and timely submission to the supervisors for review.
  • Serve as WV focal point and representative of WFP during missions and at coordination meetings.
  • Follow up and liaison with Food Assistance Manager to ensure that food pipeline issues are well addressed.
  • Participate in project design, proposal writing, budgeting process, and engaging various donors during the negotiation process.
  • Facilitate capacity building of the food team to meet established standards through on-the-job training, workshops, mentoring and other appropriate methods.
  • Review districts CTS/weekly/monthly/ quarterly reports and ensure they are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Liaise and meet with donors and other food programming stakeholders for the purposes of networking, information sharing and nurturing partnerships.

    Requirements

  • Computer literacy in MS Office, and Lotus notes.
  • Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
  • Ability to effectively develop rapport and relate to donors, NGOs, and government stakeholders.
  • Direct experience and thorough working knowledge of food aid legislations and regulations of major donors such as United States, WFP and The EU Commitment to capacity building and people development.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian aid standards as well as accountability standards.
  • Prospective candidates should have a minimum of a University degree or equivalent,
    at least 2 years’ experience in a related field preferably in commodity programming.
  • Must have strong leadership and management
    skills.

    World Vision Food Assistance Manager Careers in Uganda

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in project design, proposal writing, budgeting process, and engaging various support offices and donors during the negotiation process in coordination with Response Programs, Grant Acquisition Mananement (GAM) and Finance units.
  • Liaise and meet with donors and other food programming stakeholders for the purposes of networking, information sharing and nurturing partnerships.
  • In collaboration with the design, monitoring and evaluation team ensuring that food programs are monitored, evaluated and that operational research contributes to program innovation.
  • Provide strategic leadership in the roll out of Cash in Food assistance to the WNRR program.
  • Responsible for mainstreaming Refugee gender and protection in the Food assistance strategy and implementation.
  • Managing the day-to-day implementation of Food Assistance interventions according to objectives and Detailed Implementation Plans.
  • Work with WFP, UNHCR and OPM to develop and approve clear and concise Food Assistance community communication strategies, SOPs and support timely roll out of community outreaches to address refugee anxiety, avert tension within the Food sector group and communities.

    Commodity Tracking (Reporting and Accountability):

  • Maintain a comprehensive commodity tracking systems so as to ensure that all commodities are properly distributed and accounted for to WV Partnership and major donor standards.
  • Ensure that all commodity losses and claims procedures are in compliance with the World Vision Partnership and donor requirements.
  • Ensure that the required periodic reports are generated from the CTS reports and submitted to the relevant consumers on a timely basis.
  • Ensure the loss and claims registers, files are well maintained and checked on a regular basis.
  • Maintain shipment files and registers and ensure that shipments reconciliation is accurately done on a daily basis.
  • Follow up on all commodities loans received or given to other agencies including WFP.
  • Maintain inventory control on a monthly basis and ensure that the commodity book balances match with the actual stocks.
  • Ensure that food and non-food commodities are well warehoused as per WV standards.

    Requirements

  • BA Degree /Masters in Business Administration, Social Science or in other related field.
  • Extensive exposure to food aid programs management (minimum 5 years) preferably with international experience.
  • Adequate knowledge and experience in food aid programs and donors standards appropriate to the management of the food programs.
  • Knowledge of the Sphere standards, Code of Conduct for Red Cross/ Red crescent, Humanitarian Accountability Partnerships (HAPI) and other international humanitarian standards.
  • Extensive experience in supervising staff and conducting capacity building workshops.
  • In depth working Knowledge of computer soft wares like CTS, Excel, words, fax and e-mail, etc.
  • Ability to effectively develop rapport and relate to donors, NGOs, counterparts, and government agencies.
  • Must be willing to travel and a flexible approach to living conditions.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • Ability to achieve personal Integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to solve problems and prioritize many demands without losing focus.
