Background

  • The COVID-19 pandemic has had a disproportionate impact on vulnerable populations, including low-income communities, elderly individuals, and those with underlying health conditions.

  • To address this disparity, a demand creation assistant is needed to support the Demand Creation / Communication Officer in developing and implementing strategies to increase vaccination rates among vulnerable populations.

    Objective

  • The demand creation assistant will be responsible for supporting the Demand Creation / Communication Officer in developing and implementing a comprehensive demand creation strategy to increase COVID-19 vaccination rates among vulnerable populations.

    Responsibilities

  • Support the development of a demand creation plan: The demand creation assistant will work with the Demand Creation / Communication Officer to develop a demand creation plan that includes strategies to increase awareness and promote the benefits of COVID-19 vaccination among vulnerable
    populations.

  • Assist with community outreach: The demand creation assistant will assist with community outreach and engagement efforts with vulnerable populations.

  • Support the development and implementation of communication strategies: The demand creation assistant will support the development and implementation of communication strategies that promote COVID-19 vaccination, including social media campaigns, targeted messaging, and public relations efforts.

  • Assist with education and awareness campaigns: The demand creation assistant will assist with developing and implementing education and awareness campaigns that address the concerns and questions of vulnerable populations related to the COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Support the development and implementation of partnerships: The demand creation assistant will assist with establishing partnerships with healthcare providers, pharmacies, and other organizations to increase access to the COVID-19 vaccine for
    vulnerable populations.

  • Assist with monitoring and evaluation: The demand creation assistant will assist with monitoring and evaluating the impact of demand creation efforts and help adjust strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.

    Qualifications

  • Essential: Completion of secondary school,
    Desirable: Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Communications, or related field will be an asset
    5 years of experience in community outreach, demand creation, or related field

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience working with vulnerable population

  • Knowledge of public health and vaccine-related issues

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
