Job Summary

  • The SRGBV Advisor supports and manages the technical implementation community-based GBV prevention activities across the 4 zones and 38 districts of the national USAID ICYD Activity program.

  • Working in close coordination with the Case Management Advisor and school-based team, the Advisor will lead development and implementation of GBV prevention programming across the four zones including 38 districts of the USAID ICYD Activity national program.

  • The Advisor will provide technical leadership, oversight and coordination to improve uptake of GBV prevention services and deliver community-based GBV prevention
    activities.

  • She/he will ensure the project supports activities focused on HIV/GBV/VAC reduction and uptake of HTS services, for beneficiaries and male partners. Working with Technical Specialists and four PLPs the

    Major Responsibilities

    ● Support design and build capacity of PLP partners to deliver community-based GBV prevention activities, in close coordination
    with school teams and case management

    ● Support design and capacity development of PLPs to establish, train and support Village Case Management Committees (VCCMCs) across all four USAID ICYD Activity zones

    ● Provide leadership oversight and technical support in the implementation of GBV and gender norms change for adolescents and caregivers of OVC and AGYW through case management

    ● Ensure strong linkages between schools, communities and clinics for uptake of GBV prevention and response services by AGYW and
    male partners

    ● Monitor the implementation of work plan activities, manage and track budgets for
    field activities related to the SRGBV portfolio

    ● Conduct and support zonal technical teams to site visits and spot checks to districts, PLPs and activity locations to monitor implementation of activities

    ● Liaise with the M&E team in tracking and reporting related targets

    ● Compile quarterly and annual progress reports
    Job Specifications

    ● Advanced degree in Health or relevant degree plus minimum of 5 years relevant working experience

    ● At least 5 years proven experience in the design, implementation and management of SRH/ GBV /HIV programs under USAID OVC and/or DREAMS programming

    ● Experience in stakeholder engagement with government, donors, civil society at senior levels of authority

    ● Proven ability to represent and influence policy direction and decisions at national level

    ● Experience in working with different stakeholders leading coordination efforts

    ● Demonstrated interpersonal and written communication skills

    ● Ability to work independently, take initiative and leadership
