World Bank Group (Senior) Investment Officer - Corporate Finance Services Jobs in Kenya




Duties and Accountabilities

  • Strategy: Design and implement CFS strategy with regional WBG teams, focusing on Africa priorities.

  • EMP/M&A Advisory: Collaborate with regional leads to drive origination and execution of buy‑side/sell‑side advisory, restructuring, and EMP mandates.

  • Pre‑IPO Advisory: Lead origination and execution of pre‑IPO advisory mandates, including listing processes, corporate structure review, valuation, timetables, broker selection, governance advisory, and board preparation.

  • Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with internal regional and industry counterparts to identify collaboration opportunities aligned with IFC objectives.

  • Client Management: Work with multi‑regional clients to develop transaction strategies, assess bankability, funding feasibility, financial modelling, and restructuring.

  • Processing: Provide oversight on drafting transaction reports and documentation (marketing documents, information memoranda, due diligence, structuring reports, contracts).

  • Mentorship: Mentor junior colleagues to help achieve business targets.

  • Corporate Initiative: Support IFC’s brand in the CFS space, building on regional brand and communications strategy.

    Selection Criteria

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, Law, Consulting, with 12–15 years’ relevant experience.

  • Background in equity transactions as principal investor, advisor, or underwriter (investment bank, VC, PE).

  • Transaction advisory experience in buy‑side, sell‑side, restructuring mandates, preferably in disruptive technology.

  • Track record of delivering results on M&A, restructuring, and
    IPO mandates under tight timetables.

  • Proven success in client relationship management and cross‑border execution.

  • Experience taking companies public on major international stock exchanges (e.g., NYSE, LSE) is a plus.

  • Strong track record of business delivery, investment experience, business judgment, and professional credibility.

  • Excellent team player with ability to work effectively in dispersed, multicultural teams.

  • Superior facilitation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to represent IFC externally and manage relationships with clients, media, donors, and stakeholders.

  • Commitment to development and alignment with World Bank Group and IFC mission, strategy, and values.
