Basic Pay Minimum Ksh; 85,021 - Maximum Ksh; 128,609 PM

Reporting to Chief Executive Officer, the Assistant Manager, Supply Chain Management will be
responsible for all procurement aspects of the Fund including;

(a) Duties and Responsibilities:-

  • Coordinating the day to day running of the department;
  • Monitoring contract management by the user department to ensure implementation of the
    contract in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract;
  • Preparing management and statutory reports in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Reviewing, updating, interpreting and implementing existing procurement policies, regulations
    and procedures;
  • Preparing procurement plans, carrying out internal monitoring and evaluation, assessing and
    measuring the performance of suppliers and contractors;
  • Disposal of unserviceable stores in line with procurement regulations;
  • Implementation of modern inventory management techniques and approaches;
  • Undertaking Fund’s sourcing activities (supply market analysis, supplier evaluation, tendering,
    contract drafting and supplier management);
  • Managing vendor relations;
  • Preparing management and statutory reports in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Managing the supply base in order to achieve optimum stock levels;
  • Secretary to the tender evaluation committee;
  • And any other lawful duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    (b) Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment at this level, a candidate must have:-

  • Served in a comparable position in a similar organization for at least seven (7) years with least
    three (3) years in a management role;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce in procurement;
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration Accounting/Finance/Economics/Strategic
    Management;
  • Shown merit and ability in Audit work as reflected in work performance and results;
  • Professional qualification in procurement(KISM,CIPS or KNEC Diploma)
  • Member of a relevant a procurement professional Body in good standing including a license
    to practice as a procurement practitioner

    (c) Competencies required

  • Good report writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure and on strict deadlines
  • Board paper writing
    and presentation skills
  • Broad knowledge of Public Sector Procurement Standards, principles and procedures
  • Ms office proficiency
