Job Description

Women and health alliance international (WAHA) is an international non-profit organization, with the over-arching goal of addressing maternal and neonatal health in disadvantaged communities throughout the world.

WAHA registered under the Ethiopian Charities and Societies Proclamation No. 621/2009 as Foreign Charity, with Certificate No. 2692. WAHA hereby invites qualified and competent candidate for Finance and Administration Assistant position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receives cash and checks on a pre-numbered cash receipt documents of the organization, deposits collected money in the bank intact;
  • Keeps in safe blank and signed checks;
  • Submits a copy of cash receipt and bank deposit slip to assigned Finance Manager daily or on next working day; maintains cash register book to follow up daily cash balance.
  • Verifies source documents for proper approval/authorization before they are filed and recorded;
  • Receives signed checks and bank payment orders and sends checks via bank to payee;
  • Ascertains that acknowledgement is received from payee and filed with cash disbursement voucher and other documents;
  • Stamps paid mark and cross-references on all invoices and other financial supporting documents daily;
  • Informs counter parts or cooperative sponsors or any organization to collect their respective checks on time;
  • Ensures that all unused official documents and vouchers of the organization are properly registered and are available in sufficient quantity.
  • Follows up that the field office staff
    performance appraisal activity is carried out on time and checks that recommendations for bonus, salary increment, promotion, reclassification, demotion, etc. are made in accordance with established policies and procedures;
  • Makes internal and/or external announcement of vacancies as required by the field office;
  • Processes fulfilment of employment formalities, checks employment records and follows up probationary period of field office personnel;
  • Follows up recruitment, transfer and dismissal of employees.
  • Establishes new personal files and records data of all newly recruited personnel;
  • Records and updates salaries and allowance charges, transfers, promotions completion of probation, termination of service, etc. of staff on personnel files and computer data bases;
  • Keeps records of leave balances of field office staff and prepares quarterly report
    Maintains personnel records and prepares periodic manpower reports as required;
  • Sorts, registers and files documents, letters and other forms of correspondences;
  • Prepare quarterly accrued leave reports for the consumption of the Area Finance;

    Job Requirements

    Qualification

  • B.A. in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

    Work Experience:

  • A minimum of two years in relevant works;
