Job Purpose
  • The Department of Local Government, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to render an effective and efficient security management service to the department. This post is stationed in Cape Town, CBD.

    Minimum Requirements
  • An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years relevant experience; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.

    Key Performance Areas
  • Investigate complaints and incidents relating to employees and safety in the department;
  • Give advice regarding the execution and application of security procedures, systems and action plans;
  • Apply physical risk management control at the departments offices and departmental events;
  • Implement and maintain policy development;
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate security training and awareness;
  • Monitor departmenal compliance with security management practices and protection of information.

    Competencies
    Knowledge of the following:
  • Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS);
  • Minimum Physical Security Standards (MPSS);
  • Public Finance Management Act;
  • Protection of Personal Information Act;

    Skills needed:
  • Proven computer literacy (MS Office);
  • Problem solving, report writing, presentation;
  • Written and verbal communication;
  • Minute taking.
