Welthungerhilfe Regional Compliance Manager Jobs in Ethiopia;The Regional Compliance Manager will develop and manage Welthungerhilfe’s corporate compliance affairs in the Regional Directorate East & Southern Africa.

The role provides functional leadership to compliance officers and focal points in program countries, ensuring implementation of WHH’s global compliance policies and strengthening compliance management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage corporate compliance across the Region, including fraud prevention, conflicts of interest, sanctions screening, data protection, safeguarding and sensitive complaints.

  • Provide functional leadership to compliance staff and focal points.

  • Implement and strengthen WHH’s Corporate Compliance Management Program.

  • Deliver compliance training to staff and partners, maintaining training records.

  • Ensure sensitive complaints are channelled through WHH’s global Complaints Response Mechanism.

  • Initiate, conduct or oversee investigations of sensitive compliance cases.

  • Collaborate with Legal & Compliance at Head Office and functions such as HR, IT, Finance and Supply Chain.

  • Advise Regional Management and Country Directors on compliance matters.

  • Represent WHH Compliance in external expert meetings and networks.

    Profile

    Education

  • University degree in
    Law, Management, Administration, Audit, Finance/Accounting or related field.

    Experience

  • At least 5 years’ relevant professional experience in compliance or risk management.

  • Knowledge of humanitarian context and multicultural environments.

  • Experience in training and capacity building.

    Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

  • Ability to establish, maintain and improve processes.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

  • High integrity, initiative, self‑organization and resilience under pressure.

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.

  • Awareness of data‑informed approaches in compliance work.

  • Willingness to travel within country project areas.

    Contract & Conditions

  • Initial contract duration: 1 year, with good prospects for extension.

  • Position based in one of WHH’s country offices in Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Zimbabwe or Malawi.

  • Employment under national terms and conditions of the duty station.

  • Candidates must already be legally authorized to work in the chosen duty station.

  • No international relocation or visa sponsorship provided.
