  • Watoto is seeking to recruit a Medical Laboratory Coordinator to support in the delivery of quality and reliable medical laboratory services to meet the health needs of Watoto.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to)

    • To provide leadership and oversight to the Watoto medical laboratories in Gulu, Bbira and Suubi.

    • To lead and manage laboratory staff and volunteers to achieve the highest quality of service delivery.

    • To provide evidence based medical laboratory services to Watoto child care clients and ensure that high standards of Quality assurance and control are maintained.

    • To participate and oversee the development and monitoring of Laboratory standards, practice protocols, standard operating procedures, and adherence to compliance at Laboratory level.

    • To assist in the design and implementation of program monitoring and evaluation strategies

    • To support in strategic planning for the laboratories in accordance with the department protocols and policies.

    • To ensure an up to date maintenance of all patients’ records and Laboratory inventory.

    • To ensure that education programmes are well-planned and coordinated.

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience

    ▪ The applicant for the Watoto Medical Laboratory Coordinator opportunity should hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
    in Medical Laboratory Technology/science.

    ▪ Should have a valid annual practicing licence from Allied Health Professionals Council.

    ▪ At least three years’ experience in a similar role in a large and busy organisation.

    • Must possess good managerial, administrative and leadership skills to ensure you achieve departmental objectives and goals.

    • Passionate about community health care with ability to work effectively within a team environment.

    • Commitment to working within standardized guidelines.

    • High level of motivation and initiative and the ability to strive for a high standard of practice.

    • Team player, result oriented, self – motivated, able to work with minimum supervision and for long hours under extreme pressure,
