Qisher Ltd rapidly growing mid-sized consultancy firm based in Nairobi.
We are seeking to recruit a Water Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities
General coordination of all water activities/projects
Produce designs, both initial outlines and full plans, of sewerage, water treatment and water structures such as pump systems and pipe networks
Manage and maintain water and sewerage infrastructure operations
Present project details and technical information to the Project Manager
Preparation of project proposals and project status reports
Preparation of bills of quantities including interpretation of bills of quantities and drawings to the residents
Measurements of work done and preparation of payment certificates
Liaise with contractors, government agencies and suppliers
Supervise contractors and site workers
Using a variety of specialist computer applications/simulation software to design projects
Coordinate with the Project manager to ensure that projects keep to budgets and timescales
Maintain an awareness of current environmental issues
Streamline the water agenda with the community and other interested parties
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
Qualifications
Degree /Higher Diploma in Water Engineering
Registration with relevant bodies
will be an added advantage
At least two (2) years’ experience in related fields
Training in engineering design soft ware will be an added advantage (AutoCAD, ArchiCAD)
Ability to learn/use of survey equipment such as GPS, Theodolite, Total Station/Real time kinematic
Ability to demonstrate a genuine knowledge and interest of the water industry and environmental issue
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
High level of integrity
Work planning skills and ability to work under minimal supervision
