Washington State University Administrative Manager - Jobs in Nairobi Kenya

This position is responsible for the overall administrative coordination of Washington State University Global Health-Kenya, a Non-Governmental Organization in Nairobi, Kenya.

It serves as the primary financial and personnel officer for the NGO and will operate with a broad level of independent judgment and decision-making authority.

This position will report directly to the Paul G. Allen School for Global Animal Health Director of Finance and Administration based in Pullman, Washington.

Manage the administrative functions of the NGO personnel, procurement and contracts, and finance units of the NGO.

Responsibilities include assisting the Director of Finance and Administration in the development of long- and short-term strategic plans for the NGO, leading and managing administrative activities associated with the Kenya NGO office, and ensuring operations are aligned with WSU policies and procedures as well as in compliance with Kenyan law.

    Required Qualifications
  • Positions require a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and four (4) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience.
  • Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.

    Additional Requirements
  • A Master’s Degree in a related field and a minimum of four (4) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified which has included at least (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience using computer accounting information systems and/or applications software
  • Experience with budgeting and grant management
  • Experience representing employing organization’s mission, vision and strategic plans to stakeholders
  • Experience engaging employees (developing teams) in the workplace through collaboration, accountability, integrity and respect.
  • Must be able to obtain work authorization for Kenya.
  • Must be able to travel internationally based on work related needs.
  • Must pass Kenya
    and United States personal background checks.

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Cooperative Agreement management.
  • Experience with with Kenya and international government regulations pertaining to fiscal management, employment, administrative, and NGO registration compliance.
  • Experience with NGO administration.
  • Experience working in Higher Education administration in Kenya and/or the Unite
  • Will this position required States.
  • Experience with short- and long-term operations planning.This position has been designated by the department to require a background check
